Why is San Francisco so highly regarded/valued?

I went there last summer... it's such a beautiful place. :)
The medicinal cannabis clubs are thriving. Well over 40 of them now, and 6 or 7 within 2-8 blocks of my house. Great cannabis, oils, clones, mother plants, edibles, and many other extracts. The places to eat in the area are also seeing more buisness than usual. Cannabis clubs are an asset to the neighborhood. You really dont see many street level cannabis dealers anymore, which is ok with me.
Let me know if yer ever back this way:thumbsup:

Minimium wage is 8.50$ per hour in San Francisco. I know people that work at fa(s)t food places that make over 10.00$ per hour.
I give guitar lessons based on a sliding scale(translation...you pay what you can afford), but i am actually retired now. (50 years old)

Housing in the San Francisco Bay area is unbelievably expensive compared to the rest of the country. I live in San Jose which is about 45 minutes from San Francisco. My wife and I bought a small home with an incredibly tiny yard(5' of grass between our house and the street) two years ago and for what we paid for it we could have bought a mansion somewhere else. Seriously! And I don't mean the hills of Arkansas, I mean somewhere like Portland, Chicago, etc.
As expensive as it is, I'll never leave. Although I live in the 10th biggest city in the U.S. I am surrounded by mountains. I have access to hundreds of miles of hiking/mnt biking trails within minutes of my house. I can go hiking all day and clubbing all night. The ocean is 45 minutes away and the BIG mountains are 4 hrs away. I could go skiing in the morning and surfing in the afternoon. Most of the year we have sunny skies and avg temps of about 75-80 degrees with no humidity. Plus, Northern California has THE BEST WEED in the country.
