Hey, I think I had that same light ur using and it sucked ass for my plants. Go pick up a 42w (150w compared to normal) compact flourecent and you will need more than one for 6 plants, but right now one will be fine I guess. Try getting at least 3.
hmm how much those go for?
I got mine at home depot for 10$ each, plus the lamps
what kind of light is it? if its incandesent or soft white then you better change them quick (like the ones you put on your ciellings). Those kind of lights sucks terribly for the following reasons... Their energy turns into heat rather than usable light, they have a bad spectrum, and they dont produce much lumens (900 at most). Maybe thats the reason your plants dry up quick. Spend a few more bucks to buy compact floroesents, they have a better spectrum, output (1750 lumens 27watts), low heat, and can be placed very close to the plants w/o buring. If your using incandesent or soft white then your plants wont grow as good as you want it. This should cost you under 20 bucks. If youre really serious then get some HID lamps (over $100 though, and the one with alot of wattage produce up to or over 50000 lumens).
