By "we all", do you include the authors of religous manuscripts, such as the bible, that are claimed by some to be direct communication from a supreme being via "special" people"?Quote:

What an outstanding question, Yes ~ All of the weeknesses of those God used, where clearly displayed; The adulterous affair of the 1st king of Israel.
You quoted one of his psalms earlier.( none are righteous... etc.)
David was reported by God to be "a man after Gods own heart".
The bipolar actions of Elijah. the compulsions of Peter.
The rediculous things that James and John asked of the Lord.
These last three used by God to write 1 gospel and 3 epistles, of the new testament.
The fact that God put the prositute from Jerico as Davids great grand mother.
yet God chose to make these flawed individuals ~ Jesus's ancestors.
God hides nothing, yet loves and accepts remarkably different and better than I do. I am trying to learn to do the same... very honestly.
I believe that we are all flawed, You have heard - I'm Ok - your Ok - right.
I think it would be better said ~ I'm not Ok - Your not Ok... but thats Ok.
Unfortunately, some religious people are not there. I from my own experience
found myself condeming my self thru my own religious predisposition.
"I'll beat this God" I would actually say to myself...
To look at this honestly ~ I would be cleaning myself up and presenting myself clean to God.
This Is self rightousness by definition. Self rightousness will never stand before God It's like later. I could just hear him say... No you won't!!
He loved me too much to allow me to remain in that state. of religious pride. It's like.... HAY GOD! Um aah I don't need you... I can handle my own righteousness - Thankyou.
This state of religious delusional self rightiousness is the very thing that shrinks would say ~ keep their offices filled.
Hey, buddy I'm sorry I attacked Nietsche, whom you respect.
Please tell me why you are an Atheist, not for any other reason - than genuinely interested.
Thanks Brad
Brad,
Atheism is a way of life - a method of thinking that relies on reason and logic rather than superstition.
Everybody, including yourself, was born an Atheist. Religion must be learned. This does not mean that the Atheist knows all the answers. In fact, the opposite is quite true. Most Atheists have had the accusation, "You think you know everything!" thrown at them by religionists, while it's religion itself that claims to have a monopoly on the truth.
I don't mind anybody "attacking" Nietzsche for some of his ideas, as long as they know what he wrote. One of his assertions was that there is no one "truth", and he certainly would have encouraged his students to question everything he wrote as well. I am sure that he would have hoped that people applied the same logic to his words as they would have to any other.
Of course, when it comes to their business, religions expects the flock to to reject this and accept their dogma on faith. It (religion) is a gigantic fraud that is the greatest folly man ever invented.
That's one explanation of my lack of belief in religion.
Have a good week!

Much of what you have pointed out is true unfortunately, what I observe to be missing is the fact that you are not concidering those that have a vibrrant relationship with God.
He reviels himself in an ongoing way to those that keep their eyes open to Him.
The problem is that society has observed those that are religious, which by the way is not a complement concerning those of faith.
Reigion manifest in typically 1 of two ways, many display both:
1) the dishonest observe what (they may perceive that) they do well.
And judge others by their own stregnths.
Also, not even concidering their own weeknesses.
These find themselves alone and miserable... sad.
2) Then there are those with a more honest self assesment that see where
the are weak and stumbling, ~ self critical - judging themselves
against others stregnths. caught in a spiral of shame.
Both are caught up in a paradigm of self rightousness.(religion)
This sickness (religion).... God hates with a perfect hatered.
He grieves over those suffering under this.
and also over those repulsed by this festering spiritual view of His Kingdom.
Why does God allow suffering?
Is His Kingdon reigning in many places, homes, minds, churches?
Jesus asked for us to pray His Kingdom come His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. It obviously isn't if he asked to pray that it would be so.
I have seen a tremendous number of times when god touched my life.
Prophets walking up - telling me exactly what I had been praying to God.
Or another prophet, as I observed told a friend that she had her fine silver out the previous night ~ wondering why she even had it.
The Lord says, "Take it out and invite those you live around, that have labored and accomplished, and are basically naked and poor, and they know it."
These friends live in a lovely neighborhood being a captain with American Air.
I could go on and on. Prophesys to me, my wife, My son when he was 5 yrs old laid out on the floor before the man of God, as we walked forward for prayer with him.
What you are addressing is an intellectual view only. Limited to what the mind may think about - this or that.
What I am saying re: true faith ~ is relationship with the living God.
It is not limited to our opinions.
Our opinions change nothing.
The one guy that made the reference about seeking God with our heart (which is relational) is right. Even though some of his affections are off, as well as mine (though different) God couldn't care less where we are starting from. just as long as we are facing the right way... Toward Him.
Those who seek me will find me... Whos looking for me... WHOS LOOKING FOR ME!... I WILL BE FOUND BY YOU!!
I do not care where you are! I will be found by you!!
There is more than one way to find God/Goddess. However you see or perceive him, her, or it. Isn't there?
Nietzsche was german, not shakespearean.Quote:

This is called karma, or in the case of the bad things you've done (which we all do) karmic debt. God deals with it all... the actions and the words and the thoughts and your judgements on others and yourself. He can giveth and he can taketh away...
But God is inside you as well... remember... Christ is within. You have the will to do what you will and you have the reasoning to make the right decisions in your life. Maybe even in the subtlist ways... but to the other people you are affecting, those changes may seem subtle at first but may have huge implications for their future... possibly changing their lifes forever. So be kind... and aim to be a better person. It'll work better for everybody.
We all slip up sometimes... always. Because it's built into our ego... you just need the awareness of when you're doing wrong to be able to make it right.
God is everything and nothing.
If The Bible was preached correctly it would be logical, and scientific truth!
For the garden called Eden was where God and Humankind could meet.
As long as we tend and keep the garden, we can have this union.
I believe Marijuana has a very big part to play in the well being of the garden!
So by our hand we can restore Eden to its prestine state!
I believe God is waitting on such a Gift!
To make Amends for our past tresspasses!
The Garden principle is Logical!
As long as we keep the garden we have food, water, air, and a place in time.
This might be what Christ made for us.....and has given us time to figure things out logically!
"To tend and keep the garden"
"Destroying those who destroy the Earth"
So, we see that this Earthly body we are on is important to God, because at the moment it is the only reality that can hold us as humankind!
If we pollute it, we pollute our selves!
If we destroy it we destory our selves!
If we abuse it, we abuse our selves!
That is the magic God put into this planet!
And when we get out of hand with sacrifice in wars, and lies, corruption...the wrath of God comes to bare.
Draw your lines so that they stay in the sand, and we remember what has happened over the years of 2001-2012 in the news!
And that is enough proof for me!
LoL. Check this shit out..
Lioness in zoo kills man who invoked God
Mon Jun 5, 8:31 AM ET
KIEV (Reuters) - A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.
"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.
"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."
The incident, Sunday evening when the zoo was packed with visitors, was the first of its kind at the attraction. Lions and tigers are kept in an "animal island" protected by thick concrete blocks.
