Don't totally disregard it, there are people that have had success with it.
it didn't work because you need to smoke large amounts of it to have a decent effect.
Sinicuichi is great, too bad its uncommon. I've had it a few times now and its a great relaxing drug, like cannabis.
Here is a nice article on it:

Problem with it is that you need to smoke loads of it for it to be any good, and it's quite expensive for what you get from it. I'd still recommend it though.

I made tea from 0.9 grams of 10x extract (so it was equivalent to about 9 grams) and had a pretty mild but a pleasant and tranquil experience. I was fortunate enough to avoid any cramps which seem to be quite frequently mentioned in user reports. The most definite effects were mild euphoria and a feeling of serenity. I didn't detect any undisputable audio distortions, even though they seem to be very often associated with sinicuichi.
It seems that there is a lot of variety in the experiences of those who have tried it. One reason propably is that the materials have not been of uniform quality.

I'm pretty sure the reason the tea didn't work at all was because it was dried material, from what I know of it you need to use fresh material and let it ferment in the sun. Maybe if i come across some fresh plants i can try it again some day!
