how tall does a scrog cab need to be?

hello, just thought i'd throw my 2 abes your way, heres a pic of my cab, which is going to be a scrog cab in the future, but since i'm only half done with it, i'm growing straight from seed untrained, btw, I drew inspriration for my cab from justaseeds. The height of my cab for the flowering "side" is 39 inches and the height for the future vegging side is 24 inches. my previous grow box was 29 inches and it turned out to be more than adequate for my first grow. Read up as much as you can from these forums, theres alot of good info in these here threads

justaseed - did you set up a system to remove the screen with the pot when you needed to flush the soil?

btw, very excellent grow...i'm going to build a box that's 2x2x4 - looks to be the perfect size for growing 2 plants.

this seems to be my thread for questions...since i cant have a separate box for cloning, would it be possible to take cuttings for clones after harvesting? i'm hoping to harvest, clone, and restart the growing process all in the same box.

today i feel like going to home depot...gonna get some wood :D

hey justaseed, another stupid question...how'd you have enough room up there for a ballast? doesn't look like you have one...were you running lights that didn't need a ballast..?

hey sry to intrude on ur thread.. but justaseed i was wonderinghow do you get the bud sights through the 1"x1" screen without damaging the fanleaves or the budsight? and also do you put them through the screen prior or post budding stage? thanx in advance

it was a remote ballast so it was behind the box. i lined the bottom with plastic and set the pots on top of some plastic eggrate(the stuff they use for lights in drop ceilings) so when i flushed i would just use a shop vac to vacuum out the water. in a small cab remote ballasts are a must imo. you don't want the extra heat from the ballast inside the grow chamber. i rewired this light from home depot to make it remote. it's really simple.

i did replace the bulb with a horticultural bulb (better spectrum and a few more lumens)

notorious, you train them through the screen long before buds form so the holes are plenty big enough to fit the stems through.

ok, now i understand... thanx alot justaseed. im finally gonna try scrog but it always seemed so complicated but ur pics made me want to scrog wtg!!!

it can take a very long time to reveg a plant for taking clones so i would not recomend that as way to do it(unless you need to save the genetics). build a small clone/veg chamber with some flouros, that way you will have plants ready right after harvest. otherwise it could take up to 2 months to reveg the plant after harvest that another 1-2 weeks to root the cuts then a few more to veg them. that is as much as 3-4 months from the time you harvest until the plants are ready to be put to flower which will take about 2 more months so that's almost 6 months between harvests when it could be 8 weeks or so between harvests with a second chamber running!

hey just JUSTASEED it looks like you use a soiless mix for your plants? is that better than clay pebbles or the other stuff? how much do you yeild with what you have in the picture? what kind of lights?

thanks for the compliment. i did use soiless, promix bx to be exact. i am on probation for 1 year so i don't currently have a grow but i did yeild 12+ oz from my 400hps grow and am confident i can raise that to a lb when i start up a grow again! the pics above were of my stealth cab, the left side had 150hps and 164cfl watts and yeilded 5+. the right side had about 350cfl watts and yeilded 4+ oz
