I am a musician and i really am amazed by the complexity of these songs. My musician friends say that tool has truly demonstrated that they have mastered their art.
LOL, nah uh. Over complexified. Tool can't handle such things... they were better when they were REAL.
I agree... but it needs to picked apart so that people can "get" the joke, so to speak.Quote:

havent heard their new stuff.
but now i think tool are an alright band even though im into more heavier shit.
I am going to agree that it is certainly not as good as Lateralus, Aenima, or Undertow. But I do disagree with you that it sucks. I was very disappointed at first as well, and I know they are capable of MUCH better. But I did listen to it more, and I have developed some level of appreciation for it. Vicarious does not sound anything like schism except for the intro. Jambi is one of my favorite Tool songs now. Intension is really mellow and like Disposition. Right in Two is probably the best song on the album with Jambi right behind it.
I am not a Tool fanboy, but even if this is their worst album ever. It's still Tool, which means that its STILL a hell of alot better than alot of other crap out there.
Listen to the composition of the album and it's songs... it's like they just pulled it out of their gaping asshole. And I ignore the stupid crap... why even bother with it? Why does it need to grow on you before you start to like it... what a shitty way to "appreciate" music... and yet almost everyone does it. Another set of songs to add to your playlist and play in the background when you're chatting it up with e-friends. Ugh... what a shitty way to listen to music... no wonder no one can hear that Tool's new album sucks. I doubt most of you even really listen to the music and how it's put together... all you hear is a song with a title...
