Also - the thrive alive - should I get the green, red or what?
Green is all organic I use the green. The best way to water three gallon pots is with a garden sprayer. Every two to three days only when it is dry with a amount of water so that they will dry out every two to three days. If you can only water the top portion that would be best. Things that will help drying are a fan, heating pad such as a electric blanket, dehumidifier is your basement is damp, but it is best to feed only when dry so that the plants can get air to the roots every 3 to 5 days maximum. If you had to hold your breath longer then you could you would turn unhealthy colors too. Not to insult you in anyway but people will remember better with me stating it like that.

Here is a sample of a smaller one
for the soil only water droplets on the plants under lights can cause burn spots

So should I water them right before I put them to sleep?
You should water them when they are dry, and only when they are dry.

Looks like chronic over water and pH problems.
Also, looks like its beyond salvage as well.
Note the purple stems from the base stem to the leaf. BAD NEWS.
Once those fans drop, you have nothing to power the plant flowers. And those flower tops will just stay tiny and dissapoint.
I use lava rock in the bottom of my containers and water only from the bottom. The lava soaks up the water and then the soil soaks water from the rocks.
The roots go where the water is. Deep roots are good and the lava dries out first and will in turn soak back the water from the soil.
Keeps it going in a nice cycle and the soil never gets soaked and nutes dont get washed away in the watering process. Plus you WILL get bigger buds.
Always water first thing in the morning so the plant can respirate the water thru out the day.
Also, plants love to be misted with clean water. A water burn spot here and there hurts nothing. They thrive on misting.
Good luck and sorry bout your plants.
Live and learn.
How do you water from the bottom?
You dont with out getting droopy leaves and ph imbalance, not to mention the risk of staving out all the surface roots. Look at Hardons grow journal.

Well mine have begun to flower. Hardon said that they are not salvageable! I will take some more pics tonight and could you please take a look. I hope all this time hasn't been wasted!
OK well Hardon was right and all the leaves are falling off. Should I just harvest when all the leaves fall? I mean the bud is sticky as hell so it won't be a complete wash.
