Just cleaned my pipe with isopropyl alcohol...

Rubbing alcohol evaporates at room temperature. If you let it sit out so it all evaporates, you'll be fine.

Besides, what the fuck do you think they use to make hash? They use rubbing alcohol or butane because THC dissolves in them. Last time I checked, lighter fluids weren't the safest things to be putting in your body. They let the butane or alcohol evaporate and it's all good. Besides, if there was still 99% isopropyl alcohol in with the weed, your weed would probably burn like gasoline. Alcohol is extremely flammable.

Yea.. I soaked it in hot water with salt...then put my bowl/pipe in a bag with 70% isopropyl acohol and salt and shoke it around till the bag was like black and it turned out really goood....it was alll green with resin now its like...pale yellow....and you can see threw it....i did this about 10 minutes ago....

I just did a search here for isopropyl because I have previously used it to clean pipes and it works well. I also had the same question. I know that when I was in the Air Force we used Isopropyl alcohol because it would evaporate without leaving residue.

My glass pipe for whatever reason has a very small rush hole. :( Usually I get most of my resin out of the rush hole opening (in other words down inside the glass bowl) but it's too small to let anything fit out.

I want to soak it in isopropyl because I was thinking that it would evaporate but I'm no expert on the subject either. Anyone else have any ideas?

Is there any kind of alcohol you should not use to clean a bong (I'm not trying to smoke any left over resin)? I know there are really cheap alochols like the 30% or something. And they have the cheap wintergreen kind. Do these work for cleaning too?

IIG, Just go to your local rite aid, wal greens, sav-on, grocery store, etc, and pick yourself up some 1-2 dollar things of isopropyl alcohol.

It is the same thing as those 420 cleaners, except they just add a couple things. If you can find a salty like substance that works well when you are shaking the piece with the alcohol.

it is used in all kinds of extractions
methanol is almost the same
iso alcohol is a mix of methanol and ethanol
they also use acetone, toluene, xylene, and naptha
for any of those you can evap a little and if it leaves a residue you can distill it first to make it safe
iso alcohol from a drug store is pharm grade and leaves no residue

if you use just a bottle of iso alcohol, you can let it evaporate out, or you can use a double boiler and boil the alcohol out (if you are really impatient)... but i never did like messing with alcohol alot, so i've only done it a couple of times, and it was before i knew about using hot water to get resin out...

Evaporate the iospropyl alcohol out (the MSDS for isopropanol says that it turns to gas at 82C) and you should be fine.
