sorry to burst your bubble, but even Colorado hasn't legalised MJ
They legalized posession of a shall amount only in Denver.
I know whats up. I also under stand that you cant walk down the street in Netherlands smoking. They dont care about you having alittle as long as your not asting dumb. I'm not a dumb person. I don't intend on acting dumb either. I just want to be able to smoke in my house not worried about my neighbors calling the cops and sending me to jail for a few months. I've wanted to move to Europe ever since I was young anyways. I FUCKING HATE AMERICA!!!!!!!!! Truth is I don't want anything to do whith all the war mongers. I also want to live some place where everywhere I go I don't have to see the same thing over and over. I've been to every state and they all look the same to some extent. Sure New York is dirtier, San Fracisco is fruitier, and Jersey smells worse than Gary, Indiana but, for the most part everything is the same. I'm not just going to Europe to smoke out. I have so many friends from Europe who moved to the states and they all wish they were back except for these two hood rat white boys who's lives are about getting in fights. They lived in England but thier Texans all the way.
I'd love tomove to Amsterdam...But if you can't speak Dutch...moving to a quet little area will be difficult to manage...My advice is to move to Canada....beautiful place I'm told and the law is soft....I'm told.
Regards
Enh, most people in the Netherlands can probably speak better English than we can. It's not like the rest of the country is a desolate wasteland :)
Hey man, people around here are very sensitive to languages. :) especially in Belgium.
We have three main languages (which i speak) french dutch and german. English is extremely incorporated in our daily lives, so we pretty much all speak it :upsidedow (I actually prefer to think and write in english :s)
Being 'the American' in Amsterdam is no problem whatsoever. Just ignore the silly accent and babble away, 'cuz they're very social people.

I know the Dutch to be very liberal people! so it's good to know that they aren't too bothered by foreigners....However most of Europe is pretty much "uptight" with regards to the English and now the Americans...everyone loves the Irish though! Also most of the foreign worlds speak English as rule ,because it is basically a core subject in school and is also the "Common Language " of planet Earth.....More English speakers in China than in America!
It always amazes me when I go abroad how well the people speak English and put us all to shame with our basic knowledge of the foreign languages we were taught!
But if you move abroad ...You will always be a foreigner....But I find that people take you as you are and first impressions count! As long as you are polite and respectfull...people will always enjoy your company! Even in France!
dude...i love holland, im going to move there, and dont get discouraged...if anything, you'll be pleasantly delighted by how smoothly it will be....the dutch are wonderful, everyone speaks english (my cousin said if they tell you they dont speak english, it just means they dont wanna talk to you haha), and there are plenty of places to live..my family lives there...id recommend living in Breda or Tilburg, they r great towns with a lot of coffeeshops, and the houses and area is really nice and its about a 45 min train ride to amsterdam....im going to move there.
Canada man, canada.
There's tons of places around the world that pot is legalized or the laws are very soft on pot smokers; do some research buddy, amsterdam's not the only one.
