Starchild, I hope you had a Blessed Yule. I dont know if its possible for you, but I just put fresh pine and holly sprigs all around my pagan things and dont let the prejudices of the ignorant get to me. I just keep a smile on my face and change the conversation in a different direction. I wont put my 'things' away, this is my home and those that have a problem with my spirituality do not have to come if it is such a moral dillema for them. I invite all, but its their problem if they miss out on a great meal and fantastic company, not mine. Remember Karma. There must be tolerance and respect for your religious preferrence and at the same time have the same tolerence for theirs. I dont think this should include hiding your Pagan 'things", do they put their crosses, rosaries and pictures away when you come to visit? My husband is non Pagan but is extremely openminded. His family is so incredibly Mennonite. His parents come by very infrequently and the rest of his family even less. I would not put things away for them and Ken would never ask me to.
It is a very sad thing that so many are so ignorant about Paganism. there's no satan in our book, we have a high moral and ethical code, environmentaly minded, have a low opinion of violence, and so much more. But most Christians dont even realise that the majority of their holidays are based on Pagan celebrations. The Christians just "cleaned" them up to suit their moral standards. Yes well.............
Blessed Be
I'm curious starchild, were do you live?
