the filter mainly acts as a mouthpiece, also to prevent bits of weed from burning ur throat.. i dunno about u but ive always used filters saves burning ur lips from the last hits

Depends on the size of the joint... and... oh for christ sakes, there is alot of reasons to use a filter. You're just a cum guzzling asshat.Quote:

Some people use paper, but I actually try to find cardboard and roll it into a triangle, and just do that. It's good because you can smoke to the very end of the herb... yeah.. I like it.
Filters, a.k.a. roaches (in the UK), are usually little pieces of cardboard torn off of your pack of papers. I've used them a few times in spliffs, but I really prefer the leftover roaches. We're North Americans afterall.
That cardboard is versatile; it can also be used to make a crutch, which is basically a cardboard roachclip. You roll a piece into a cone shape, and shove the roach in the end.

I didn't use them when i started, however, im putting them in now. makes it easier to hold for those last tokes. I use cue cards (flash cards) or i go to safeway and take their twist ties those are really easy to make a good filter and its free...plus grab some munchies while im there nooow thats some smart thinking.
