Homemade Absinthe

so can anyone answer my question, what is the highest proof alcohol availible in the UK?

Yeah, what I said is pretty much correct, 40% seems to be our limit really, but you can get 50%+ Tequila, I'm sure of it :)

I thought Everclear was availible everywhere...95% alcohol. :eek:

What would happen if you took some homemade absinth (or any absinth for that matter) and made some Green Dragon with THAT (soaking weed in it for a few weeks). That'd be pretty fucked up.

thats what I was thinking about doing it's a pretty good idea :dance:

You could buy some absinthe, to get you through, and also it would be something to taste against and get it just right :D

You just find some ether somewhere :p

Blue Label smirnoff is 45% I think I'll just try it with that

^Yeah dude. I tried it once. Remember not to use anything lower than 100 proof, or otherwise the absinthe will come out a murky brown.. and not the fluorescent green that is desired.

Your best bet it to get everclear and add water so you can control exactly what proof you want. Add a little more wormwood than the recipe says... but not too much because wormwood can be toxic. When you drink it, do it with two ice cubes and a sugarcube.

I put it in a mason jar outside.. and when I came back.. it had all spilled out =(.

I don't think I can get ahold of everclear in the UK, do you think using 45% Blue label vodka will be alrite that will be just under 100 proof,well it'll be about 95 proof. Also did you distill yours?
