coulsdn't he heat the glass with one of those little torches, i think they usually have a green tank about the size of a football.. just heat the shit otta one spot and you should be able to poke through, unless it's not hot enough. i know it takes a LOT of heat to melt glas but you may be able to soften it up alot.
just use a plastic bottle man. it's much easier, quicker and its the same smoke ...

dont hit hard, and when u do start to get a lil divet (hole starting) stop..BE EXTREMLY CAREFUL! one wrong move and the hole things wrecked, use a knife with a sharp strong tip...use it like a screw driver and dig into the divet, a hole will soon be dug...be very slow....REMEMBER DON'T USE A LOT OF PRESSURE..takes a long time to perfect...you probly will fuck up on the first one

Some advice:
Go very slowly! Like, way slower than you think you need to, and apply hardly any pressure at all, ESPECIALLY when the tip has already broken partially through.
Always drill STRAIGHT into the glass, and not at an angle. Drilling at an angle means you tend to slide, shake, and unevenly grind away the glass, all things that tend to break the glass.
Be creative! There are lots of things you can turn into a kickass bong when armed with a glass drillbit and some patience. I had this really cool glass jar shaped like a snowman (it was from some cutesy farmer's market maple syrup my mom bought) that I turned into a bong--perfect for the holiday season, neh?

It'd be fucking badass to have a glass/ceramic/clay frosty the snowman statue that's cheap and hollow inside, and make a hooka out of it.
