exist harder.
The idea that you are a machine is both ignorant and repressive. Deep within the human experience is this "I" character that we assosiate ourselves with. Ignoring the "I" would put us on the level of animals, but it's not natural to ignore it as it's put into humanity and humanity alone. I concider my body a machine in all regards, but that doesn't mean that the "I" that I know as myself is a machine, as everything I experience and love and hate tells me otherwiseQuote:

the existence of man and his understanding of himself comes from statments like the one above. Giving oneself an identity by seperating ourselves from the whole. THIS is often called the ego.
STILLNESS... STILLNESS... STILLNESSS...
SIT STILL.. WATCH the mind.. realize you are not our thoughts..
CAN you even stay still for 5 minutes? 10 minutes? you will be very very happy that you did..
i love you
have you ever thought like what if what i see as red, you see as green, but just call it red too? ive always found stuff like that interesting.
dude i used to think about that EXACT stuff. it really makes you wonder, because if that is true, theres no way to prove it or disprove it :-/Quote:

How can you prove anything? Can you trust anything your senses tell you. After all, theyve lied to you before (dreams, hallucinations) how do you know theyre not lying to you right now?
who knows
the reality is, why do we need to prove anything? why are we so addicted to this drug we call 'proof' and 'existance'? does marijuana bring us to a higher level of consciousness, or a lower one that is more desireable?
i think it really did bring me to a higher consciousness. i know humans are one of the few species that have a conscience, and thats what seperates us from the animals. but we're only toying with this conscience in day to day life.
we only experience it sometimes, when we look in the mirror and consider ourselves, when we study for a test because we consider our future, when we eat even if we're not feeling hungry because we know we have to eat, that is our conscience.
to become aware of the fact that you are nothing more than an animal is to be permanantly lifted into this state of consciousness that i just described.
awareness.
That is not true. Well it could be but it is unknown and alwyas will be. Will can not tell if other animals have a conscience, but because we can not understand them and read their thoughts, we say they don't. Also, what makes us different from the other animals is the fact that we have printed text and we can create advanced things other animals can't. Besides we are still animals and from what I see we are the same as them, we just have more ways of doing things, like killing and havesting food.Quote:
