Is this plant flowering??
The problem with planting in that flower bed is that you don't know what type of soil is in it, or what has been added to the soil before. It is too late for the larger plant, but you can still change the soil on the smaller one. Go with a good mix of healthy ingredients and make a nice, rich, organic growing medium for your plants. Try mixing some plain potting soil, peat(coconut husks are even better), vermiculite, wormcastings, bat guano, bird guano, fish emulsion, and some maure. You can even add a bit of volcanic soil if you can find some to add a lot of trace minerals. At most gardening stores you can also buy premixed organic soil, but most likely you will still need to add some perilite, vermiculite, and peat to help loosen it up and aerate it. :)

Is this plant flowering??
The poor thing is cupping because of heat. Also the yellowing on the top new growth could be the PH is a little to HIGH. Also check the underside of the leaves, any BUGS, those brown spots look a little too much like bugs eating them. Also to me the soil looks very very DARK or almost black. That looks to be very very RICH soil, which will be on the up side of PH which is the reason for the new leaves being a lighter green/yellow or even whiteish color. I would check for BUGS, and PH too high most of all. Just go to Overgrow.com and do alot of reading, peace....MrP.

Ur leaves are showing much signs of necrosis and chlorosis. The problem with planting outside is that your never know what type of bugs are around your plants. Many leaves that I can see are wilting, shrivelling, and wrippling like a ruffle's potato chip. This could be signs of mites. You might also wanna seach thru your plants, especially on the undersides of leaves for bugs. As far as the dead leaves on the ground, this is actually a good thing. Dead leaves are great organic matter than can easily and cheaply be incorporated back into your soil, improving soil texture, pH and nutrients.

1 more thing i forgot. When i looked again at some of your pics, i can see some weeds (other than MJ) growing in ur flower bed. Remove them. Always make sure to weed out your area if you are growing outdoors. A good idea is to weed out at least as far as the canopy of your plants. This is a good general area of the space your roots cover underground. Weeds can steal soil water and soil nutrients away from ur MJ, and can also harbor diseases and insects that may easily find their way to your plant.
