under higher potency, yes, you'll have panic attack like symptoms, if not a full blown panic attack.

Weed can increase paranoia, which increases anxiety, sometimes into panic. The paranoia can be eliminated with correct dosage and environment. If you can eliminate the paranoia, one's anxiety is reduced by smoking.

Also note that THC is stored in your fat cells and time-released, having a mild calming affect, even when you're not high. This is why we get a reputation for being mellow people.
