Three of my babies popped through this morning!! Yay! I'm so excited! Thanks, sawleaf, for calming me down...I'm a little neurotic sometimes.
congratulations maryjane your a plant mama keep us posted on how they're doing..I've been bringing my two little ones in at night and leaving them out during the day.. they look really healthy,,,
Ok, 3 new babies this morning, yesterday's are almost an inch long already! Now my problem is that it is raining outside, so I brought my plants in. But my lights aren't set up, yet! Ahhhh. I could possibly have them up tonight (if my husband gets his ass off the couch long enought to help me). Does anyone think that it will be a problem if they don't get any light until later on tonight? I could jack something up, but I'd have to leave the lights on the floor and I don't want to burn the house down.
Yeah that will definately be a problem. You need to get a good light source on them while they are small or they will start stratching for light and you'll have to prop them up.
:) Thanks, sawleaf, because I was just going to wait until after dinner to try and get the lights up and that wouldv'e been too late. I half-assed put my lights together and I have them on. One more baby is out now, so seven out of sixteen are above soil. I put them closest to the light and I'll check on them every hour to make sure they're OK, I don't want them to get burned. If I only get 7 out of 16 to come up, I guess that'll be alright, but I was hoping for all of them to come out because I won't know how many females I have for a while. Everything got set up at 1 and I usually put them out in the sun around 9:30, so I'm only 3 1/2 hours behind. Tonight my husband will help me put the lights up (the way they're supposed to be) and I'll keep them indoors from then on. Thanks again!
All 16 little babies are up. I talk to them everyday, even coo at them like real babies. I tell them what beautiful girls they are...what every girl wants to hear! Some of the earliest ones are up almost 2 inches. I'm just hoping that they stay healthy and that I don't make any mistakes. I'm taking Marc Emery's advice on how to get the most females and I hope it works!
