Definitely go ahead with the bong. I would smoke a bong over a joint anyday. You can get big rips without burning your throat and the reduced health risks are supposedly well worth it, although the government hasn't been allowing any research to be done on that.
If you don't want to spend too much money, get an acrylic bong, but if you have enough money stored away and you're not clumsy, a glass bong would be a wise investment.
I made one outta those tall plastic glass you can get at Valley Fair, only ours is a pepsi one its a thin tube like shaft and the bottom comes out just like a reg. bong, we had alot of extra bowls around so we made a hole and screwed er in there with the o-ring fuckers air tight and you get massive rips off it, its prob about 12 inches tall. nicest bong i ever made.

I'm not sure anyone addressed some of the other advantages.
Beyond simply filtering the smoke, the bong can be filled with chilled or iced water which will significantly cool the smoke. This is what really makes you able to take deeper tokes.
Often your eyes can be bigger than your lungs. The smoke seems so cool and easy that you take in more than you can hold.
I also remember years back, a couple of knuckle'heads' would fill their bong with Jack Daniels. Not sure if I liked it, but it would cover the taste of nasty shwag.
Get yourself a good glass bong, fill it with ice & water, and get'r'done.
go glass or dont go at all, bongs are amazing, whether your a once-in-a-while toker or a daily blazer, the smoke doesnt burn your throat, you dont get ash in your mouth, there is a decrease in the carcinogens in the filtered smoke, and you can really conserve weed with them, the list goes on.
fill your bong with that concentrate juice stuff. its like slush, and you add water. you know what i mean. someone on this board told me about that one
or you could make your own bong
