I think you just have to set THE EXAMPLE. If you smoke weed, pop pills and drink in excess you can in most cases expect your kids to do the same but not always.
I don't think you can hide it from them and this sets up a thread of dishonesty if you try hidding it. Comunication is your best friend here...
My kids have always known I smoke...I mean when they were old enough to know. I don't smoke in the room with them as this is just rude....it is the same as cigarettes if you don't smoke it you don't like the smell...and out of 4 kids only one smokes weed, he has done X once and nothing else and he does not drink at all.I am much happier that he does not drink as you can die from alcohol no one has died from weed. As with anything moderation is the key and I have always stressed that.
my 2 cents anyway :) good thread...thanks

Yea, it seems the dropouts and super trouble people all are, not just users, but allowed to. Maybe allow it but not on school days? Like tv? seems weird. confusing though
scarlett begonias! i figured out were your signature came from fengzi lol no wonder it looked familiar i've heard that song atleast 1000 times :) (the ungratefull dead and sublime versions)
this is a very interesting thread to read. all age groups talking honestly. pretty cool. i just want to add that i grew up with alot of self esteem... a result of my family, friends, and sports. i think that anybody who responsibly smokes a little weed and doesn't let it effect his life in a negative way and can function in life without anybody ever knowing, then that person will be fine. good grades, college, and a future. chillin with a little bud in between aint no bad thing. i wouldn't tell my parents or walk around proud of being a stoner or a fuck up. but chill and toke when the time is right. nobody will be the wiser. people who are showing off how fucked they are are the ones with low self esteem and will probably end up a fuck up stoner. plenty of people i know get good grades, are peer leaders, play sports, are active in church and the community and SPARK IT UP after their done.
that's fucking awesome. I thought I had cool parents, but you definitely take that award. my parents smoke and they're cool with me smoking, but I doubt they'd ever give me anything. I asked for their bong once, no dice.Quote:
