Wish I was lucky enough to have parents like that, man that would be cool. Chill out, sit back in a lawn chair take a hit off the bong and pass it to pop's, sit and laugh at all the funny shit people do in there lives and generally enjoy ourselves. My dad used to smoke when he was younger, joined the military and he was never the same.
dont ask him, what if the reaction is negative. why do you want to go through that shit.
acctualy in in the same dillema exept im 14 and live with him...he probly would smoke with me but i dont really want to take the chance incase he freaks about it
I'm lucky that my mum is cool and laid back when it comes to drugs, so I can be completely honest with her. I smoke ganja take a few other drugs with her and some family friends on the weekend-aslong as I save the drugs for the weekend to do in moderation, its cool. And I don't feel inclined to take any chemicals during the week, except for the odd joint or a psychedelic on wednesdays to help break the week up a bit.
I'm probably in a minority, but you know your dad better than anyone else-he sounds quite laid back to me so it might be worth a try.
i remember when i was little and my mother was so upfront about everything, i'd ask her about everything, sex, drugs, whatever. i remember i was in the sixth grade when she told me she had smoked pot... a lot. it wasn't until after my father passed away i found out he used to traffic acid thru canada and new england. the first time i smoked i told my parents, i thought my father's jaw had disconnected from his skull. my mom acctually taught me how to roll a joint. she hadn't smoked for years, and was complaining about it one day so i pulled out a joint and we smoked. it was the weirdest thing i'd ever done. we smoke together fairly regularly now. i got her an 1/8 for her birthday this year. my father died before i got the chance to smoke with him. such is life i suppose.

I know this sucks but there are some legal aspects to consider. If you are under 18 a parent can get into a lot of very heavy trouble. Over 18? have the "heavy talk" most of us (smoking parents) want to share but we don't know how to approach the subject. Me? I took my kids to Amsterdam and stoned the woopies out of them, hey it's almost legal there. It's the damn age thing, I really did not want to go to jail for "corrupting the morals of a minor" anywhere in the 'States. Call me a wimp but I had shoes to buy and kids to feed. Oh yea the "leave it out ploy" ...bad idea, you never know who else is coming in the door. Talk first, respect the parents opinion, and live your own life.

Coming from a smoking kid with a smoking parent, I agree with this.
I had some extra weed one day and I asked my mom if she wanted any of it (I knew she smoked...she knew I smoked...just never got around to smoking together) and she said, and I quote, "is it dro?"
After that, we lit up a bowl...got stoned...and the rest is history.
I love smoking with my mom...it puts us on another level than just parent/child, ya know?
