Cloning question
So far so good. I assume that if I've been drinking it for 30 years it was safe for the plants. I would like to start completely over, but my mothers are exhausted. Took 40 cuttings from 2 plants over the past month. They are flowering pretty strong right now. The first 20 I cloned using vermiculite/perlite mix. Worked great, once they were rooted good I moved them to a a areoponics tank (low Pressure). Ofter 4 weeks they had very little root growth so I put them back in soil last night. I was hoping that starting them off in hydro would give better results. I won't try to get into my other problem with the areoponics. I did not know what I was doing, and my PH would jsy keep rising to 7.3 and above.

Cloning question
depending on how long they were in vermiculite would depend on what roots developed. Then the transition to areo would confuse them. Plants develope roots for what kind of soil they are growing in or water. changing back and forth can be done but is stressfull.
When I do clone for soil peeps they have to take them at first sign of root and they do well. I used rockwool and the root riots for years but found in hydro it cause problems keeping the stalck too wet. So all natural areo cloner and let me tell you it was a bitch for me to get a handle on it. I had to find just the right place for it where the temp is always good.
Good Luck and this is the hydro section so if you want to talk areo it's good.
