dont worry about it... no big deal.
Hey Silent Leprechaun,
I need your input. I'm returning the Illuminator-90W-UFO-LED-Grow-Lights and I'm looking at the Pro-Grow 260 as well. But I've found another light that interest me, but I don't know if it compares to the Pro-Gro.
The other choice is the Solar Flare 200 watt Full Cycle
My main concern is to simply complete a grow with 30 days Veg, and 8 to 10 weeks flowering time. I haven't been able to do that with what I have, and the Pro-Source 180 watt is around 600 bucks. I know the Pro-Grow competes with the 180 watt ProSource light from your posts, but I'm wondering about this Solar Flare. I've seen some posts about it, but not as many as the Pro-Grow.
There is one other light, but I don't think it compares to the Pro-Grow and that's the Lighthouse 240 watt.
What do you think?
BTW, over the last couple of days, I've placed my plant outside, and with 85 - 90 degree temps for about 6 hours each day, it has really stretched. That really told me that I need something stronger than what i have. Nothing compares to Sunlight. LOL
Hiya Silent Leprechaun. I have looked at your grows before and I have always had one burning question that I never got round to asking. Why do you supplement your LED light with small CFL's. Is it for a little heat? to get your temps in range?
Yep PhatJay
That's exactly why I use the CFL, for heat. Although I am thinking of adding 4 x 85w 2700k CFL to the current grow I have, but only during bloom.
I think they will give a huge boost to the plants. My temps at the moment in the tent are just perfect at 22-23 degrees Celsius.
My extractor runs 24/7 dragging air through my Can9000 carbon filter. It's a great filter and my extractor is set on a very low speed setting.
@lamen
I can only advise you on the light that I use myself. I have never used those other lights and so can't make a recommendation.
I can only advise you through my own experience.
Thanks Silent Leprechaun, That was an unfair question. haha I changed my mind and I'm sticking with the 90 watt Illuminator from ProSource and the Light house 100 watt UFO. Gonna order a couple of 200 watt Daylight bulbs hopefully to assist. Getting ready to post some pics of latest growth.
I wouldnt go for the 'daylight' CFL.
The UFO will be good enough for the veg stage, get the 'warm white' (2700k) CFL instead. That's what I would do anyway.
The 100w of 2700k will also help a little in the veg stage but will be a better work horse during the bloom stage. Better to invest in the bloom.
that's just my 2 cents on that.
LED Grow Log under the Pro-Grow 260, 2xBlueCheese, 1xBigBang,1xChronic! Yummy !
Hey guys and gals.
So thing are coming along just fine in the grow log. The 4 plants I will be keeping indoors with me are all looking fine. One is a little behind the others and seemed to have been damaged, but she will be fine.
The plants are in their second pots with the third pot (a bucket) coming as soon as I start to see some roots coming out the end of the pots.
I have another 11 bag seeds to go out in the outdoors and you can see 3 large seedlings and 8 or 9 smaller seedlings. They all came out of a bag of weed a friend bought.
I must say that the seeds are in great shape and the genetics seem to be good and strong. The previous grower must have bought them in a good shop.
Does anyone know if I can buy male pollen anywhere ? Would be interesting to know. I think I saved some from last year. Would be nice if I intend to do an outdoor grow, although the best are the feminised seeds. They give almost no trouble.
So here are my babies now. I'm sure you will see a big difference in the 4 indoor plants since my last post.

WOW Silent Leprechaun, These look great. What's the age of the 4 plants? Are you running CO2? And how old are the lil plants too? I'm just amazed as to how fast they grow when things are setup right. Nice plants
Yeah dude ! You are right ! these babies are looking amazing :)
I'm not running Co2, I just have good and constant ventilation.
The reason these babies are looking so hot is because of two major factors: hardware & genetics ! :)
The LED light is a real powerhouse ! It is perfect for my 90 x 90 cm space. Its a Pro-Grow 260. And it only uses 190w ! You can even switch between the veg and bloom light spectrum.
I leave only the veg lights on for the first week, then I hit the plants with all 190w until the last 2 weeks of bloom, then I use just the bloom spectrum.
The seeds are from a reputable company, Rhino Seeds. On their web page you will find lots of companies. I got most of my seeds from feminised seeds. They have a very nice range....
The plants are just 3 weeks old in the picture. When the genetics are fantastic and the lights you are on a winner from the starting line. But dont forget abot soil, ventilation, air movement and the list of secondary, but still important factors. a chain is only as strong as its weakest link ;)
Always be sure to get only the best seeds and invest in a good light ;)

So just a quick update on my grow. I just re-potted the plants into 2.5 gallon buckets as the roots were quite well developed in the smaller 2 litre (0.5 gallon) pots.
I sometimes worry in case I stunt the plants growth if the roots become too pot bound. But all is good and I'm sure the plants will start to take off soon.
I'll give the plants a week to get settled in their new homes and then the fun starts again with 12/12 on the horizon :) Can't wait !
One plant started to grow a little strange, the leaves were looking very jagged. I was told that my LED light might be causing this and sometimes seedlings freak out from time to time. However, the plants only grew 2 strange sets of leaves and now it is back on track again. This didn't stunt the plant much at all. It was just a random short term freak out.
So all is well again :) I thought I might have mixed a bad soil mix or something. I feel much better now that the plants are all happy and strong :)
So I started using a mild fertiliser lately to let the plants get used to what I will be feeding them with. I always use an organic fertiliser made of seaweed and tomato.
This fertiliser served me well in my last grow so I hope it will be just as good this time. I will be using less than I did last time because I had a magnesium lock out in 2 of the plants last time.
So here are some pictures from today, I think they are now about 4 weeks since breaking the soil. I'll give them just 1 more week of veg and then the fun starts on 12/12 :)
