Yahoo Daily News 2012-06-14: ST. LOUIS, June 12 (Thomson Reuters Accelus) - Federal prosecutors are targeting medical marijuana shops in California, seeking forfeiture of the properties in which they do business. The authorities are pressuring landlords to shut down the shops or face possible loss of the real estate through the unconventional and low-key use of a civil statute designed primarily to seize the assets of drug-trafficking organizations. While some states, including California, have legalized medical marijuana businesses, the federal government does not recognize their authority to do so and has targeted the shops for violations... more ยป Read full article Post a Comment Sms this Page

G3 in Upland, CA remain in Federal Jail, today: 6/25/2012. The Feds do not want them out on bail and want them to remain in jail, until trial starts in August. Guess the want it over before election. pr

I have been looking all around google and forums like this for at least a week now and seem to be coming across the same replies like "just do your research" but at the same time replies like "there's limited info out there". I'd like to finally get some HELPFUL information that someone like a preexisting store owner has ACTUALLY used themselves and is willing to share with someone serious about taking the first step into a medical marijuana future. The kind of information I am looking for regards the obvious legal complications, and things like expected overhead, growing (tried once and killed all 4 plants because It was all guess work and I was ill-prepared) and the ever so important; where to start and what to do.
As of right now I know the easy basics:
- It's going to be somewhat expensive, but I've seen numbers from 25-250k so I'm not 100% sure where to shoot
- There's a lot of paperwork to be had and a lawyer is advised to hopefully ensure a full and complete legal application(s)
- If opening up a dispensary, you have to form a non-profit LLC and pay a **** load of taxes
- You can either grow your own medicine on site or outsource it from a 3rd party somehow or another
I'd like to get in touch with someone willing to talk to my investor and I via Skype or something like that to better inform us and help convince my investor. I know it sounds like a tall order, but in all of my looking around for information, nothing has really given any straight answers. My investor will probably have quite a bit of questions and can talk business all day so I'm looking for someone up to the task of dealing with us because we are very much so willing to learn.
If you have any information for me or would like to help further than just one post commenting on one thing, please let me know. I am new to this forum so I don't know if you can PM me or if my email is on here for you to email me but let me know somehow and I'll do what I can to get back to you ASAP and we can go from there. Thank you in advance to anybody willing to help! I am quite serious about taking this on.

in all honesty.......people who want the money never last in this business. Unless you grow the dank and take pride in what you do your just like all the greedy co op's with mid grade thinking they can throw money at this industry and expect to make millions. Instead of looking for an investor, you should look for some growers. Cant run a business without grade A quality, and thats the hardest thing to find now days. In a med cannabis state your competing against master growers who have been in this trade for decades. You say your from Texas and i know theyre not very pot friendly out that way, its very different on the west coast. Unfortunatly everyone and their mom is growing pot,and in some cases grandma has her own plants as well :) Its a tough business out there! Very competitive
Its not legal by any means also, its a grey area in which the feds are free to raid whoever they feel like. I live in washington state and as legal as i like to think it is, the feds would love to bust me and my collective garden of 45 plants.

Now that I've spent time in a Federal Courthouse:wtf:, sure would like to know how you have come to your belief of Federal Law over State? Always curious. Maybe, I can understand things here better. Thanks:jointsmile: pr

How can I message you? And possibly talk more about the right way to open a dispensary.

there were rumors going around for some time that you could use an out of state mmj card, but after carefully reading the arizona prop. laws, you need to be an arizona resident for a minimum of 1 year before you can get an arizona card. if you have friends in arizona, i suggest writing to your self at least 12 months before you come visit. Also, concentrates like wax is not allowed for you to buy, but no law reguarding making it yourself.
