To PUSHIT or any one else can help me regarding nutes
Hello Pushit,
As for PH I have a test kit with a small bottle of up and a small bottle of down. I hope I can manage the Ph level. After all I'm a first time beginner. I'm using a Hydrofarm jump start system (since I'm only starting with three in hopes of getting a girl). It has a full daylight spectrum 6400K lamp. When the flowers start I will switch to a warm spectrum lamp. I do, however, have a question. Do I switch the lamps as soon as I start 12/12 or wait until I see something resembling a flower? Thanks again. You've been a great help and it's better than traversing all the different logs to get one answer.

What wattage is the light you are gonna use? As for the 12/12 question its really up to you. Ive heard people having great success doing either or. I personally switch the bulb as soon as i switch to 12/12. The moment I switch to 12/12 i consider it the first day of flower. Some do it differently.
As for the ph, depending on brand, you would be amazed what a couple drops will do. Its some stout stuff. Once you start using ph and nutes, dont forget to shake up the bottles before you use them.

Hey Pushit
I posted a response but I'm not sure if it worked.

Hello Pushit,
I'm using a Hydrofarm Jump Start System which came with a 24" tube. It's 24 watt, T5, 6400K full daylight spectrum lamp with a reflector. I thought I'd use this until the plant is 12" -14" tall then switch over to 12/12 and then use a warm spectrum tube. I'm hoping for 1 girl. Since I'm new at this I didn't want to invest a lot of money. Do you think this would work, suggestions?

I use something pretty close to that for seedlings and clones. Even with the little ones i get alot of stretch until they go under the cfls. What im getting at is that youre not gonna have enough light. If you just want to grow 1 plant with ok results, I would suggest getting several cfls for it. Put a couple up top with the T5 and several going around the plant. Since you are only vegging til about 12" you might be able to get away with just 2/26watt cfls at the moment. But come flowering time, I would definitely add some side lighting. You can probably get the extra cfls, ext cord, and ys for under 25 bucks. You can also just get a couple a week and you wont really notice the money gone. Other than that it sounds like you are on the right track.

You are going to need more light. Either more T5s, some CFLs or other.

Hey Pushit
How does this sound? I'll leave them under the T5 while they are in the seedling stage. When it's time to start vegging I'll put them under a Fluorowing, CFLS, 125W, full daylight spectrum, 6400K. Then when I go 12/12 I'll put them under a 125W warm spectrum. Do you think this will work? How long do I leave them under the T5? Right now they are under it 24/7. Thanks

That sounds good to me. If you wanted you could just buy the warmer cfls and use them through your whole grow. They will work just fine. Saves you from buying two different sets. But which ever way you decide should be ok. Just remember the more cfls you have the happier the plant will be and you can always mix the spectrums up. A couple cooler ones with a couple warm ones. Also keep in mind that you might end up with more than one female. More ladies=more light.
I usually keep my seedlings 24/7 until my first transplant then i go to 18/6 for veg. 24/7 light minimizes the stretch on the little ones.
I dont mind helping you with the basics but there are many people that are alot more knowledgeable than i am on here. I havent been growing for two years yet so im pretty much a noob myself. I still have alot to learn. Just wanted to put that out there haha.

HEY.
You sure helped me with all my questions. I'll try not to bother you any more. But I was thinking for the veg state to have them on a 17/7 schedule because I need to have it finished by June as I ned to go on a trip then. Will this schedule create a problem? 24/7 for babies, 17/7 for veg and 12/12 for blossom.

Youre not bothering me. Im more than willing to share what little bit i know. Ive never used 17/7 so i cant really say. I would still suggest using the 16/8 schedule. Its your choice. I dont really think that extra hour of light is gonna matter much in veg. I could be wrong. But usually the earlier you flip to 12/12 the earlier the plant will be done. Most strains will take 8+ weeks in flower to finish. Plus you have to factor in drying and curing time. Not too mention if anything goes wrong it takes time to correct and get the plant back on track.
If you ever get time post a pic of how the little ones are doing.
