choose a white strain hybrid if you like frosty nugs!
Judging by the leaves and the bud they came from the.seedlings will be a sativa, so I hope they all turn out females...*fingers crossed*
hemperor,
You have your Sativa and Indica info backwards.
Hum? interesting statement MedicineMan11 could you be less specific?joke lol! Inlighten me on the subject. Because I'm really bummed out by your post.:wtf:
To be general and vague, sativas are more cerebral in their effect and indicas have more of a body effect, therefore, a more indica dominate hybrid will be the best for pain. Here is a good link, Medical Marijuana | Understanding Strains
Understanding Strains
Hybrids
Here is a quote from Hilary Black of the British Columbia Compassion Society: "Indica and Sativa are the two main varieties of the cannabis plant used as medicine. There are many strains that are crosses of those two varieties. Within each of those varieties and crosses there are a huge number of individual strains, each with a different cannabinoid profile and effect."
As Indica strains have more chlorophyll than Sativa they grow and mature faster. Combining different Indicas, different Sativas or a combination thereof creates hybrids. The resulting hybrid strains will grow, mature and smoke in relationship to the Indica/Sativa percentages they end up containing.
The benefits of hybridization is that the breeder can attempt to create a breed that can fit exact needs, depending on the grower or end user. In today's market the hybrids dominate, as most strains has been crossed with each other at one time or another. Hybrid cannabis strains of note: Love Potion, Harmony, Thunderbud, Super Silver Haze, Timewarp, C99, Sour Diesel, Snowcap, Trainwreck, Apollo, Big Bertha, Skunk.
Pure Sativas
Pure Sativa cannabis is a rarity in the medical marijuana field as it is very hard to cultivate, especially indoors and also outdoors in the northern hemisphere (Canada). Seeds of these types are also rare to find as vendors like to stock popular kinds and pure Sativas aren't that popular and they come primarily from more equatorial regions (Colombia, Mexico and Southeast Asia). They are tall, thin plants, with much narrower leaves and grow a lighter green in color. They grow very quickly and can reach heights of 20 feet in a single season. Once flowering has begun, they can take anywhere from 10 to 16 weeks to fully mature. Flavors range from earthy to sweet and fruity.
Pure Sativa highs can often induce paranoia attacks and irregular heart beats so as a medicinal product Sativas are a rare choice. One of the positive effects of Sativas are their uplifting capabilities that may aid in depression and/or chronic fatigue syndrome. Examples include Acapulco, Burmese and Malawi Gold.
Although pure Sativas are quite rare, they are highly coveted by breeders who use their genetic stability to create designer hybrids.
Hybrid Sativas
These are Sativas that have been worked on by a breeder to fit special criteria such as exotic smells, tastes and the "up" high Sativas are known for. Often these hybrids contain some Indica genetics but appear mostly Sativa in nature. Hybrid Sativas are coveted as medicine for the motivational properties they possess, often without the paranoia associated with pure Sativa. Sativa hybrids rarely have any pain blocking attributes and shouldn't be used as such. These types have anti-depression and appetite stimulation qualities, so can be valuable as medicine in that regard.
Common Sativa hybrids include Haze, Kali Mist, Jack Herer, Willy Nelson.
Pure Indica
Pure Indicas originally come from the hash producing countries of the world like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Morocco and Tibet. They are short, dense plants, with broad leaves that often grow a darker green, with more chlorophyll and less accessory pigments (accessory pigments protect the plant from excessive sunlight). After flowering starts they will be mature in 6 to 8 weeks and are better for indoor growing because they don't get as tall. The buds will be thick and dense, with flavors and aromas ranging from pungent skunk to sweet and fruity.
Afghani is by far the most ubiquitous strain and many modern strains incorporate these genetics. Indica plants have by far the most narcotic, body stone and pain blocking qualities so they are highly coveted by medical patients with any sort of pain. As a result of their higher CBD levels they are also helpful as a sleeping aid for those suffering with insomnia. The most common Indica's are Afghani, Pakistani, Hashplant, Herijuana, Hindu Kush and G-13.
Hybrid Indica
In terms of medical value these are the best and most widely appreciated. Today's "Kush" strains are a prime example of these types and are easily the most popular. They tend to have many qualities that both grower and patient find to their liking, therefor the majority of medical marijuana is hybrid Indica. A few examples of hybrid Indica include: OG Kush, Master Kush, Purple Kush, White Rhino, Romulan, Blueberry, Dutch Treat, Grapefruit and Northern Lights.
PGS420 as I said Nuken is one of the best easy growing with a great yield. Here is info on it: * Type: Sativa/Indica Hybrid
* Yield: Heavy
* Flowering Time Required: between 49 and 56 days;
* Cross: God Bud x Kish
* Bred by: Cash Crop Ken
The Nuken strain of medical-grade marijuana is a cross between a God Bud female and a Kish male. God Bud is of course one of the world's most demanded purple skunk strains; famous for its deep body stones and trouble-free growing ability. Kish is a double crossed Shishkaberry, a strain that produces heavy, resinous buds and also generates an Indica-dominant body-centered buzz. The Nuken strain grows larger than either of her parent strains. She will more than double in height during her flowering stage and can easily reach 5 feet tall. Indoor marijuana growers need to consider how tall she may get, as well as the amount of ceiling height they have, and prune accordingly.

Able to grow very impressively either as a central cola or a multi-branching plant, the Nuken cannabis strain requires little involvement from the grower besides providing the pure water, intense light, quality nutrients and carbon dioxide that she needs. She will grow thick branches to support her dense, sticky buds. Her foliage is a middle green color and she doesn't smell very strongly until she begins curing. Her flowering phase will last between seven and eight weeks and it's important to keep her humidity levels at 40% or less. As with many Indica strains, her dense cola formations are prone to moisture-loving plant destroyers like mold, mildew, pests and more.
If you're looking for an Indica-dominant strain of medicinal cannabis to help you combat chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety and/or stress, then Nuken should be near the top of your list. She tastes like marshmallows melted down with stirred-in skunk piss and produces room-reaking aromas that demand incense for covering. Nuken marijuana will make your body and mind relax deeply and peacefully. She's not recommended for work breaks, driving or anything else that demands a whole lot of mental/physical involvement.
MedicineMan11 Thanks for clearing it up. I had read that cannabis indica hybrids that contain sativa are better at treating pain. And assumed because of the article that I read, that was not complete :mad: that sativas where for pain relief. And white strains are the best hybrids! so that's why I recommended them and theres a lot of medical whitestrains. As far as growing and breeding seeds I know what i'm doing and why i do it! But the medical side of cannabis is a new interest of mine . I'm always ready to learn. Thanks! Sorry for the misinformation :( here is a good pdf of what you said 10 times more mmj noob friendly!

I thought that the sativa head trip was blocking the pain signal from reaching your brain, When i should of paid more attention to the bodybuzz effect of indica. Never had notice the pain relief from indica because where i'm from the indica we grow is m-39 and i'm so used to it i dont even want to smoke it anymore! Defenitly felt the pain relief from hybrids and the headtrip from sativas it's hard to miss!
I am thinking "Tahoe OG" for during the day. Lasts until late (very long acting) and then a purple to knock off the pain completely at night! Worked for me. Some Indica's have too much Sativa for pain contol, yet you like the sativa during the day to help keep you alert and awake. Wanna sleep-a good Indica: Purple Urkle is a good one. But, I try them all! I am not fussy when it comes to testing stuff. A good Blueberry is pretty good for night, as well. Then, of course, my personal favorite-Blueberry/Kush: Can most likely get seeds from BC Grown in Cananda. Manages to mail the seeds without a problem. Just a suggestion from experience!
It has been reported by a few that the Sativa (without any Indica) can actually make your pain worse! I don't know about that. But, a friend of mines always says: "Any pot is better than no pot at all!" L.S. pr
I.have a lot of different kinds of strains. Some super lemon haze, well a lot of that. Some tangerian dream, some green crack, some skywalker, some og mush, and some unknowns
