Learn to grow dude is all I can say.....I use nothing but scrogs and veg for 8 weeks...but then again I guess you can pull a pound a plant using a 20 watt cfl and a picture of the sun pinned on the wall......Quote:

I would say easily 70-80% of people holding a card now are doing nothing more than working the system. If you do not qualify for SS disability and a disabled plate on your car then tough shit. Sometimes the truth hurts but this is the way I feel and there is nothing anyone can do to change my stance.
I understand there is overhead with running a dispensary, rent, power bills, wages, insurance for employees, etc. I would bet my last nickel that when the Fed's come in and open the books after a raid that there is an enormous amount of undeclared profits being funneled to the operators pockets, all while paying pretty girls who could not grow a rock garden 10 dollars an hour to draw in business. The biggest problem is how they get over on government. The people in Montana got busted for greed alone. There is no law that prevents a patient from being a member of several different dispensaires. So if a dispensary can grow say 5 plants per patient and this patient belongs to 5 different dispensaires, then in theory there are 25 plants being grown in different locations for this one patient. Even if the patient has a negative experience and decides to never return to a dispensary, their name is on the books as a number of plants and does nothing more than line the pockets of the operator.
I think the easiest way to get the dispensaires in check is to eliminate the right of a patient to belong to multiple dispensaires. This will force higher quality from the dispensaries in order to maintain a patient base. Those who do not will go out of business. If your overhead is costing you 5 dollars per gram of cannibis over the counter then this is your cost as a NON-PROFIT. Not 15 dollars, not 20 dollars. This movement was begun on the grounds that legitimate medical patients would be taken care of. Now is has become greed, not weed. So let them rot in jail I say. This is the price that must be paid for working the system and using the illnesses of other human beings to pad your pockets. Eventually the federal government WILL regulate the process and there will be an acceptable equilibrium within the medical cannabis community. Until this time comes, dispensaires will have to roll the dice and take the chance of getting a good spanking from government. The thing that really confuses me is did these people actualy think that Obama would stay in office forever? Did they not think that as soon as a conservative administration or congress took back over that things would not go back to the Bush era? I can not say if Obama will be in office for an additional term. However, if he is not then that would mean a republican would be in office and all the gloves would be off as far as LEO is concerned. If you honestly think someone like Gringrich or Romney would allow dispensaires to remain open then you are sadly mistaken. The best thing about all of this is that the feds will not go after the small growers, at least not immediately. So there will always be some sort of supply around.

As for patients that can actually use Cannabis, YES the terminal patients should have access to meds.
However many other people out there CAN ACTUALLY use Cannabis as medicine. My wife for instance has nerve damage in her spine from getting rear ended in her car that causes spasms. She could take Pharmaceutical mussel relaxants, and be basically incapacitated for the day. As well with destroying her liver. Or she can smoke a little and be functional for the day.
My best friends uncle is a patient,.... to solve his back pain (fused vertebra), he's got to take several Vicodan and Oxycoton a day, Again, cant do his job.... or smoke a little Cannabis, and ....... Tell me again that NO ONE other than TERMINAL patients should have access to meds!!!!
First I do not wish legal system problems on anyone so let's take that off the table right now. What I think everyone is missing here is that there is a real problem with the whole "Medical Marijuana" thing in the first place.
The fact is that the Prohibition on personal adult use of marijuana must end NOW!
I am over sixty years old, I recently realized that I have been living under fear and intimidation regarding pot for at least 2/3 of my entire lifetime. I have just had it with this.
The only reason we currently have the prohibition is that the Federal Govt. (through the FDA) is protecting the obsene profits of Big Pharma and all of the drugs they produce that actually harm the end user. Vicodin, Oxy, Prozac and others are huge profit generators and all can be replaced with marijuana for most people. Yes there are legitimate uses for these drugs but forcing people to use them for ailments that are more effectively and much more safely treated with a joint or vaporizer is out-and-out disgusting and immoral.
The high prices in most dispensaries here in SoCal are that way because the dispensaries are basically charging street prices because they can. There are some exceptions in LA that I have seen who are charging more resonable prices but they are not the norm. The $400/oz price is way above "cost plus resonable profit margin" that should exist. Why do we currently have to edure these prices? PROHIBITION !!! Take away the Legal risk of possesion and cultivation for personal use and the "risk premium" part of the pricing will dissapear altogether.
Please stop sniping at each other over who should have access. We all should!
Please stop ragging on about Bush this and Obama that or the silly Republican vs Democrat stuff.
Stop with the "Govt should regulate and tax marijuana" stuff.
Work to end the prohibition altogether. Use your head, this is your country too.
Yes the illegal growing on Govt land by cartels must continue to be prosecuted. Yes complete grow houses run by gangs and criminals should continue to be prosecuted. There are already laws on the books regarding the "Public Nuisance" aspect of these operations.
Ending prohibition for personal use is the goal and should be everyone's primary goal.
Ending prohibition and spreading grow knowledge will reduce pricing for all.

what a great post...I myself am over 60 and you have just put into words what I have been trying to say here for a while now...it's time this country moved forward on this issue and take the crime out of the drug and let us use god's gift to us in a more profound way without the fear of police interaction.......I just hope I am around when this country grows up.Quote:
