I use molasses as part of the compost tea that I use as the basis of my feeding program.
The plants love it!
Adding the molasses is easy.
I boil a cup of water and add 2 ounces of blackstrap molasses.
Stir well and let cool.

My compost tea recipe

In preparation you must aerate 5 gallons of water.
I am lucky to have good water so I just use tap water.
Using a cheap aquarium air pump and air stones aerate the water for at least 24 hours.

Take 1 pound of earthworm castings and some cheese cloth or a nylon sock
Wrap up your earthworm castings in the cloth/sock and put this in the water.
soak for 24 hours

Add
2 ounces of Humic Acid liquid concentrate
2 ounces liquid or powdered kelp
2 ounces Thrive Alive B1
2 ounce of blackstrap molasses (1 cup cooled molasses water mix)

Let mixture "cook" (keep aerating) for 24 hours.

When mixture is done "cooking" I add my fertilizer and feed.

Use within 24 hours

What I have heard is that you can also cut the FAN leaves right away. I think waiting until the plant shows signs of dehydration will stress it.

The reason you cut them is Transpiration:
The plant (clone) cant get water efficiently because it doesn't have a root system yet. The plant begins to dehydrate because of the process of transpiration (loss of water via leaves). Transpiration is a normal natural process, but cutting the big fan leaves cuts the amount of transpiration significantly and thus protects the plant from dehydration while it makes new roots.

Just do your cut underwater.

Osmotic pressure handles the rest. No need to cut your fan leaves (the plant will draw from those for making roots,) no need to do anything but keep water in the tray.

Solid roots in 2 weeks guaranteed - perfect for those running staggered systems.

And that's at 20% humidity, BTW.

I am thinking of using fossilized seabird guano for the boost in P for the finish.
I have used bat guano in the past in place of the earthworm castings with good results.
You can play around with this recipe as it is a good base for growth.

after the next morning doing the whole thing and putting them in humidity dome, maybe till the after noon they will all be erect all showing promise.
when the time comes for the finicky strains start drooping and the humidity is at 100% cut off the big fan leaves, thats right both(yes leave it looking like its dead 1 cute tiny leaf left, funny looking but true.
the next day presto bammo once again erect and stable and happy as a mofo

If you have a plant with a virus , like tobacco mosaic. You go and take clones off of this plant , then you don't sterilize the cutting instrument .
