Bro,Don't shoot em..............KEEP EM ! After a few days they'ld be begging you to call the cops.Just make sure ya carbon scrubber's up to snuff, they will get messy.
I am not a violent person by nature, but the criminal system will be more lenient if ya use ductape instead of a glock.
I told you guys I grow organically.....Right
MMJ Housing Discrimination
I can't believe this is what my first comment on here is going to be about... I'm with OldHead. If someone makes the incredibly bad decision to break into my house, they will have to face the consequences of that decision. If they are armed, and in your house with the intent to commit a felony, there is zero chance of getting convicted of murder. The prosecutors in this state wouldn't even look at it twice. Point is: I have an obligation to protect my family, no matter what.
On the other hand, I don't think telling people about your grow is ever a good idea either. I understand that once you get the card you get a sense of security, but there are just too many criminals out there looking for people to rob. Your landlord does not need to be informed about your MMJ status, just like they don't need to know your HIV status. It's private info and none of their business.
I definitely don't claim to have all the answers, by any means. Just thought I'd chime in on this one.
MMJ Housing Discrimination
So you probably figured your first post would be about growing or smokin. LOL
I totally agree with not disclosing medical / health to anyone other than a healthcare provider.
However,I still say..........KEEPEM for a lil bit.
MMJ Housing Discrimination
Now I agree with the majority of thought here about letting them know... My past experience is that landlords at least professional ones have confidentiality clauses. I just feel better to let owner know as opposed to havinig to stress everytime they come around for anything. Landlords post discovery can still not allow a mmj grow due to fire codes if they wanted to be dicks about it...
So this thread was originally started for anyone who has a MMJ housing or discrimination issue to know that they have a friend at the RI dept. of Human Relations..People should be able to not feel like criminals still. I am doing nothing illegal under state law so they can kiss my ass......I have sacrificed many things to legally join the MMJ community and will not let some ignorant people prejudice me..It is my God given right to defend myself, my family, my beliefs and my Country.

I do understand but I do think there are landlord/owners who will freak out if they "discover" the "grow" and from past experiences I have informed all realtors and landlords when informing initially that the info is protected by HIPPA. I see both sides to the arguement. Growing in seperate location is on the menu, but all in all if it's ten plants or 60 if a landlord freaks he will freak either way upon discovery..

WHOA!!!!! I have never been to that kind of court before...eeeks....Not even a courtesy reach around! I will make sure to shred all evidence now! I will risk my freedom but not my butthole!!!!LMAO!!:D

I hear ya OldHead,I don't think anyone here actually would disagree with you protecting your family.I know if I was on a jury deliberations would end swiftly.
On the housing issue, both trains of thought are correct to a degree.Yes you don't want discovery made if your boiler goes out at 3 AM. If you are living in a multi family, someone will want an issue adressed immediately. Therefore your up the creek with no time to shut down your grow. Also not all of us are able to have an Electrician come in and do it right. With that being said I wouldn't want my family living on the otherside of the wall from a stoner who went to the Jethro Clampett school of wiring. Also look at the poor baseard in pawtucket during the summer. The Douchebag landlady had signs posted around the entire property, informing the general public of a growhouse.
She put his life in imminent danger for a home invasion. Not to mention his right to privacy had been violated. She may as well have put up a sign saying Gay Men Live Here With Aids.

History- I have been searching for a house for rent for my family, not a grow house. I had found a beautiful home and had called the realtor, they had expressed interest in renting to my family. I informed them that I enrolled in RI's MMJ program and wanted to make them aware of it to avoid any problems in the future. I was told at the time that I should present my financial info as well as my medical issues so the home owner may make a decision which I complied to. So after a few days I get this email.....

Hi Tee,
I hope you're doing well. I left you a message yesterday, but wanted to follow-up with an email as well. After careful consideration, the owners of the apartment in Mapleville have decided against renting their apartment to someone with your specific medical treatment. Even after seeking
legal advice, they were ready to move forward until they spoke with their other tenant. He has a personal health concern with potentially being exposed. So it is with regard and respect for their current tenant that the owners have reached their decision.
I will keep you in mind if I come across any other 3+ bedroom rental units.

As one can imagine I was not happy about the clear violation of my privacy (HIPPA) divulging my medical info to the present tenets. I then contacted the RI Dept of Human Relations which I was very suprised decided to file a complaint against this company. Long story being short, there is help and protection for cardholders and if anyone has run into similiar issues of discrimination please get in touch..

Would you by chance have a copy of the complaint they filed which can be posted here ?? I would like to see this, as here in wa. state... they won't do that.. at least they claim they won't.
We had a case go to federal court but, it was public housing owned by the state.. apt. complexes. The court ruled since they got federal funding it was illegal for them to have any mmj patients living in the complexes... the patient got evicted.
So I think it may have been the federal funding which overroad the ADA/FHA claim..

As fo r an electrician, I make sure safety is priority and so should anyone messing with that much power have the knowledge or do as I. Get someone trusted who deoes it for a living..
The lady in Pawtucket needs sued, beaten and drug around by her orifices like a bowling ball! We should all go down and protest with signs in front of her personal home.
Hey out of curiousity has anyone heard of a "RI Cup" latest or is it going to come about?
MMJ Housing Discrimination
I've read this story a few times now and it just pisses me off more and more every time I read it. I really hope that you get some compensation from this. Companies have paid dearly for violating a persons HIPPA rights like this. Have you considered retaining an attorney and filing civil charges?
