The candy store was the place to be. They had them on every corner practically. Sadly, most are not in business any longer due to being able to buy candy anywhere these days. Another american icon that went to pot. ooo, I said POT! :stoned:

Penny candy????? the kids these days dont know it still tasted the same at a penny as it does a dime today!!! :D

I loved buying Bazooka gum and collecting the comics. Wish I was smart enough back then to save those suckers until now! :eek:

I had my grandmum come be visitin when i was bout 7-8 yars old be thinkin she be bringin this stuff in a red package actualy be lookin like a flag or scotish tartin on if ifin I remember she be givin my piece of this stuff she called taffy be thinkin it was sweet as wild honey till me jaw locked tight! I be panicin and couldnt understand why I couldnt scream right panic so much be pullin most the teeth outa my head forcin me mouth open. Never be touchin stuff gain stick to honey ifin I need a sweet or the little missis she be some sweet to.

Haven't had one of those in years. I liked mine frozen. I don't know why though, they're hard enough to eat.

I've been in the store with a dime and come out with a sack full. Most candy was 3 for 1 cent. Those were tha daze!:thumbsup:
