Dangers of Smoking in Teenagers
Thanks for your permission.
For the record, any smoker who feels like they should quit and doesn't is probably reacting to the negative input from others IMHO. If someone really doesn't want to do something, they should stop whatever it is they are doing. I've heard countless testimonials about how folks dropped the smoking habit cold and never went back. Those people really wanted to quit. I just won't work if you don't really want to stop.
I don't. I enjoy smoking. I am physically addicted to it, but that addiction only takes about a month to break. The rest is missing something you really enjoyed doing. Just to prove a point, I once quit for over a year. Then I went and bought a carton and resumed smoking. I know it's not hard to quit, I just don't want to. That simple. It is not dependent behavior, it is doing something I like to do. If anything it shows that I indulge myself when it comes to doing pleasurable things, i.e. also smoking cannabis . . . and other things too . . . (cue cheesy 70's porn music)

You're welcome. And if there's anything else I can give you the green light on, let me know. (yeah, right).
I think you're right about those who don't quit are just reacting to the input from others. The difference is that the smokers feels that the input is negative as you say - a criticism. That's not the non-smokers point of view. It's advice; as in, this ain't good for you and it makes no sense, so what's the point? Rebelliousness is a known characteristic to dependent personality. Complicating this is that non-smokers don't like to breathe second-hand smoke. But to each, their own.
(Do you actually play that music?)
