A shottie is basically like a home-made bong (a chamber which could be an empty bottle, a stem, a mouth-piece, and a carb hole) except there is no bowl. Instead of a bowl at the top of the stem there is just the hole at the end of the pipe, which you put a tiny piece of tobacco and then pack it with weed (works better with hash). You then smoke it in the same way as a bong, except you keep your thumb or finger on the carb-hole, fill the chamber up with smoke as much as you can, and then carry on sucking until all the weed has burnt down to the tobacco. Just before the tobacco starts to burn (you definately dont wanna be smokin it) you suck way harder untill all the tobacco and ash shoots through the pipe and into the water in the bottom of the chamber in one swidft mtotion. Then you can let go of the carb-hole and carry on sucking until the chamber is empty or youre a pussy. :) All of this has to be done in one go or you have to suffer the consequences. :p
