Germination

i always do the wet paper towel thing to germinate.. this way you know which seeds are best to plant.

the seeds in the pic were placed to germinate at the same time, one sprouted and was planted.

Alright guys I tried a few more seeds and I figured this out as 'the best way to germinate':

The wet paper towel thing put in a warm place.
It worked about twice as fast as the other ways.
Does warmth maybe help the plants grow too?

I have found the seed in the soil to work the best by far. I can hit 100% germination everytime with the soil.

The problem with germination is often mistated as the 'technique used.'

The real success in germination lies not in the method...

But in the SELECTION of the seed.

The seeds that don't germinate in soil are the seeds that won't germinate in the paper towels.

Why transplant from paper into soil when you could just do it in the soil to begin with????

Take your potential seeds and press them on a hard surface quite firmly. Do NOT be afraid to bust them...if they bust, they are weak anyhow and shouldnt be planted to begin with. Dare them to crack and crumble.

Press HARD on the seed and it if stands up to the test, drop it in 1/4 inch soil, fill hole loosely with soil and water completley the entire container.

Place it in dark so it doesn't dry out, and in 3 - 7 days, you will germinate nearly 100% of your seeds....EVERY TIME!

Trust me on this.

My problem is growing em, but damn, I can germinate them EVERYSINGLE TIME.

If the weed has or has had fungus on it, this will not be the case. Fungus will kill a seed and the seed may not 'crack' under the test. This is the ONLY exception I have ever found to the hard press test.

And thank you for sharing them. And I think you are right considering that's how nature meant them to be (in the soil).

id go direct to soil ,to save any worries,
but if i want to germinate a batch of seeds i just put them in a cup of water and a day or so later i can see them cracked open ,the taproot poking out a lil
i scoop them up in a spoon carefully and put them in soil
it only saves ya few days at best,and for the most part you know every container has a plant in it,i see no reason for newbies to rush it,wiaste seeds doing so unless they have lots of seeds and want to learn by hands on trying things,but to be sure as others has said,go with planting in soil,
shit they be up in a week anyway and u be happy about it
