I've never used a humidity dome. I've got a pretty set 14 day cloning cycle - cut off the plant, cut again underwater at a 45 degree angle, dip in rooting powder, plug into 5.8-soaked rockwool, keep the tray filled with 1/2" of water, mist every other day.
I don't even cut the leaf tips.

Yea, Kybers method times 2....gotta make the cut underwater so no air gets to it...I cut from a mother and throw cutting right away into a shallow tray of tepid ph'd water making sure the cut goes under and stays there until I have all 10 or 15 cut, then do the dipping (I use a powder) and straight into very moist soil seedling pots, pre-prepared with moist soil and a pencil hole. It goes very fast with some practice and, if the dog would leave them alone, 100% success. Oh, and I don't mist or dome them, but set them on something warm...top of my fridge works perfectly with a small desk lamp n 23w cfl for a couple weeks or I see roots, whichever comes first. Don't give up, just keep trying and you'll get it!:D

I used to do the 2nd cut under water then dip into a small container of gel before inserting into a 2nd hole poked in a rapid rooter plug with a bamboo skewer. 99% success this way.
Now i've started scraping the stem, then rolling it in a small puddle of gel, THEN do the 2nd cut while still in the puddle of gel before stuffing into the plugs.
The last run had one with roots sticking out of the plug in just 4 days!!! :eek: It was a fluke, as the rest haven't done it yet after 7, but none the less WOW!!! That girl wants to grow!!!!!
As for the rest of them, it's looking like it will eventually be 100% rooting. ;)
Edit;
I use a humidity dome, and small heating pad as well. The dome has been there from the begining, the pad is a recent addition

I prepare my medium - currently using rockwool and trying rapid rooters - I wet my rockwool cubes in chlorinated water and put the hole in (I set them upside down). I cut at angle, dip, scrape, and insert into the medium, just about that fast too. One at a time.
Depending on how old my dip is I get up to 100%....when takes get slow I toss the dip and get a new one.
