Steel wool for sure! they can't stand the texture
If i put out water it will attract other things like....bears and i need to keep them out already had trouble with them knocking over newly added potted girls. i cant use any really good stinky fertilizers because its attracts them too. I use Maxisea for the last 2 years and have had decent results 2-3 a piece which is alright with me but from what i have seen i am jealous of those that can use those good ol nasty homemade fertilzer solutions. and i thought i was doing REALLY good LOLQuote:

wow, steel wool, huh? I am going to try that around the base of my tomato plants...thank you!
yeah, just wrap it around the base. make sure it goes high enough so they can't just lean against it and chew over it.
right on! looks like steel wool is the way to go. ima just gonna get a bunch and do all the girls that way i can hopefully finish this out worry free :D
Just goggle rats and steel wool and it should bring up the article the company put up. Also has personal stories of people that used it to rid their house of rats. It messes up their palette, which with one touch, they leave it alone:thumbsup:i used it for snails and didn't see one after i put it around the stem.Quote:

Good luck, but it will work:rasta:
Rats got my crop one year. Check really closley because they will burrow into the stems of your plants and litterally live up inside the stalks of them. I got around it by using those little blue kid pools and chicken wire.
update on the situation. 2 more down :( 4/5 total. but the one that got attacked first is still doing ok. must have stronger genes, cuz the other 2 together in the trench went out fast. 5 days of so and they were just dead....toally shame but oh well ya know?
