4 month smoking break... first time high?
I quit for nine years simply because I was too damn busy and needed to keep the image up and to focus on my job.
One day I got into an argument with my wife. I was just beside myself. I was hateful and needed to get out of the house.
I went to my room and found a joint the was NINE YEARS OLD, jumped on the tractor and headed for a spot in the woods where I could be alone. I smoked the dried out, crumbly mess and didn't get high. aarrgghh
I sat there for a few minutes and decided I had to head back to the house. En-route back, I began to get a buzz... by the time I got back, I was singing old Beatle tunes and thinking life was pretty darn good!
The long break was an absolute must, but the little buzz was even more of an absolute must.

I'm in the process of taking a long break too, due to many different circumstances in my life. I'm on day 35 of my fasting and it feels great but I look forward to the day when I will fire up my Volcano once again. Just for shits and giggles, I gave myself one of those First Check home drug tests yesterday and I still came up positive, even though I run 4-5 days a week, 3-4 miles each day...so that just goes to show how concentrated THC was in my system. I think everyone needs to take a break after prolonged use for so many years...it gives your brain a breath of fresh air, which for me, was long overdue. Congrats on your desire and will to stop for so long and I hope you enjoy that first high...I'm sure it will be just as good as the first time all over again. :hippy:

...was what helped me to find out that I have arthritis.
When I first moved to Metropolis, due to financial constraints I had to stop smoking for a couple of months. I went to my doctor when things started hurting, he noticed the Heberden's Nodes on my fingers (I just thought that they were annoying bumps), and mentioned that they were an indicator of Arthritis.
About four visits later, I put the paperwork in front of him, he signed it, and then began the insane five-month wait while Health Canada f'd around with the paperwork (should have only taken three months, but there was a minor discrepancy on the paperwork that they had to re-check).
But the first few doobs I had once I was 'back' were insaaaaane :) Sigh. Even with a two-month break it took something like three or five doobies before my Chronicus Maximus tolerance started to reassert itself :(
Taking an occasional 'break' is not a Bad Thing (tm). But not too long a break... ;)

wow, some of you guys have alot of will power! I've quit alot of things in my life, but ganja has never been one of them! I give myself breaks when I'm sleeping and the 9 hours I'm at work.....after that, it's doobie time!
The only time I can remember in over a decade that I've gone without smoking weed was when I traveled to Italy! But that was for 2 weeks, then I went to Amsterdam....so it was worth it!!

I had to quit at one point for about 6 months last year because I was trying to get custody of my kids, and cps was involved because of their mother being a drug abuser(things other than mary jane). Needless to say I won and now have sole custody. I have no will power at all hehe it was all for the lil dudes.

I've been smoking weed on and off for 23 years now. The longest break I took was 6 months so I could save to build my 1st PC. I think everyone should take occasional breaks from the weed, it gives you perspective. You cannot fully appreciate light, until you experience darkness.

I disagree, I think your scenario demonstrates willpower.
