But if you like caribbean food, there's a weekend joint run by a Jamaican guy. Incredible food! And he doesn't care if you light up. Can't post info here as it's run out of the back of his house, dining area is his covered back porch. $12-15/plate and that plate is loaded with good eats!

Seriously.
Infuckincredible food. Been there about 3 times so far. Usually go about once a month (probably go next weekend). Honestly I don't feel comfortable sharing the info here with someone I haven't met. But I do go to a ton of local reggae shows/events. Sometimes I'm there chillin', sometimes I'm working security. Usually the only nonblack guy there (except for the occasional white guy w/dreads). I'm a big Samoan/Hawaiian/Chamorro looking mofo, except I'm really half Thai/half German.
I found out about it when I got invited by some of the local reggae producers/DJs. If you know any of them, they should be able to clue you in. It's a real lowkey operation, but he does have a professional kitchen gear setup. He caters & does take-out too, which is good as seating can be very limited with a bunch of rastas just kickin back playing cards/dominoes, eatin' & drinkin'. He also carries a Jamaican ginger beer (non-alcoholic) that I've never seen outside of Jamaica (though it's probably sold at local caribbean markets, I'm sure). Love that stuff too.
:( I'm a junkie for the food way more than the music. You're cruel bringing this up here!
