huh? Its been all over the news for three days now, they even highlight the nose of the RPG's and the guys carrying AK's. You can then here the pilots radio their superiors and get clearance to engage...correctly following the chain of command perfectly.....this story is BUSTED....WIKILEAKS should be ashamed of themselves. They got DUPED or they knowingly put out bogus material opening themselves to prosecution....as with TV France which was shamed after getting busted doctoring the world wide seen photos of the Palestinian man and his son supposedly stuck behind a wall getting shot at by Israeli troops....that NEVER HAPPENED.....those photos set off an intifada which killed thousands.....AND NEVER HAPPENED. The mainstream media is a fucking joke. Bloggers KILL them daily. Remember Dan Rather.

Dude, that wasn't a "nose of an RPG". It was a friggen camera. And while I recognize that shit happens in a combat zone (I'm a former active duty Marine Sergeant) and not quick to blame our military folks for some of the shit that unfortunately happens in combat, the follow up footage of blasting the rescuing individuals with the kids in the van indicates a careless blunder on the part of the aircrew.
Plus this was in 2007 if I recall correctly; not like when we where first hittin Baghdad and it was a REAL crazy mess. Bodyguards and security folks were all over the city in 2007 carrying AK??s, man. It wasn??t a reason to light em up at that time. Believe me, it ain??t that simple and it sucks.
And just because you get clearance from superiors on the other side of your radio doesn??t mean you don??t have individual responsibility for your actions as a combat airman/soldier/Marine.

sorry dude. In the unedited entire version you can pretty clearly see the rpg with one guy, the launcher with another guy, and another carrying a Kalishnakov.....the Reuters "cameramen" are off to the side.
The Wikileaks folks shoulda be more responsible, now they are scared...and rightfully so.

Since when do weapons automatically classify a person as an "enemy combatant?" You had two armed men in a large crowd. That does not seem to suggest a major threat to military personnel. Imagine if the American government treated it's citizens the way it treats the Iraqi's. Instead of only potentially dying for carrying a firearm and being confronted by law enforcement, they simply call in an apache to kill everyone in the group, armed or not.
If a foreign army were occupying my region I sure as hell would be walking around armed with military weaponry.

I didn??t say it wasn??t an AK. Like I DID SAY, they were all over the community and commonly used by bodyguards and security personnel in civvies in Baghdad by that point in time. And I call bullshit on the ??rpg? and ??launcher?. Link it up babe.
