O.K. to flower with BOTH HPS & MH?
Thanks a big bud for the link KanMan. It seems that the general consensus is to combine the two HIDs in the budding room. Mine will be under seperate hoods and moving and I will rotate the plants for the varried exposure. Look for pics of a big Train Wreck soon....

there are reflectors that combine the two lights without the ajoining ballast, so u dont have to have the two seperate reflectors. Also, u should look into a track, i have one my self and it works soooo goood! itll better distribute the light, but even better with the two spectrum reflector! so u wont have to worry about insufficient light on the outer rims of your plants, or about the spectrum distribution. itll be a perfect combination for ur grow! Ive also heard that trainwreck, i think, had some buds thatll put u on ur ass!

Hey Razer! You can buy one 1000 watt mh warm deluxe bulb that will do the same thing as two bulb of each man. I got a 1000 watt sumaster warm deluxe which has boyh spectrums in the one bulb. It has 50% red and 50% blue. Save some money man and go with one hood and one light; i do and my 1000 watt warm mh does great for me.

an eye hortilux bulb for the hps is much better than the dual mh bulb, both ell work good, but id prefer the eye hortilux, just because of the difference it made for my buds. soo much purple and pink, the regualar hps bulb looked like it was doing great, but then i got a eye hortilux and within a week i could already see color differentials, and way more abundance of trichomes. the eye hortilux just has more of the red spectrum bout 60%red/40%blue, but u want more red for the budding stage, so it works perfect!

Thanks for weighing in Gardenking, and for the extra info sensiskunk.
This MH was given to me by a friend who can't really grow for herself anymore. I in return kick her smoke regularly. I am adding light because, of course, I want more buds. I switched to the HPS lights because for 20% difference in watts I was getting 185K lumens. Now I am going to add the MH back in the mix and have around 300K. I have read that you can get about .5 grams per watt, so more watts = more buds. Also I have roughly 60 square feet in the flower room so the extra MH will mean 37 watts psf. I understand from other sources that you want atleast 20 but over 50 starts getting excessive.
So with this positive feedback, It is now a plan!
Now it's just a matter of the configuration. At the moment the two HPS are running on a 9' rail (two hoods trollied together). I am considering adding a third hood on that same rail with the MH in the center of the other two, thus creating an W pattern blend of the light. What do you think?
Also, How did you like my past successes?

Sorry for putting up 1200 x 1600 pics. Rookie message board mistake.
Here are some better resolution (and smaller) pics.)

Hey Razer; I think the extra light is a good idea man, like you say; the more light the more bud. Thats why i use a 1000 watt...by the way; beautiful buds bro!

just as a correction, my first light was a 1000 HPS not MH as stated earlier.
