I think he writes songs that only appeal to specific groups like teenage girls and what not.. and I think his guitar playing is extremely overrated.. any other guitar playre with his skill.. thats not as famous would just be another guitar player and thats 1000% truth

Very easy music to listen to. Not crazy about it but would still listen.

he's very good live and hardly over rated as a guitarist

last album not as good as "continuum", imo.

He might not be overrated as a guitarists on a large scale but within his fanbase they think hes the best thing smokin on guitar. As a guitar player myself I'd say he's slightly above average and nothing he plays is even close to being challenging to pick up

Outside of his sappy lyrics and celebrity BS..

Check out John Mayer Trio - TRY.. this is a band I'd like to hear more from..
