Best strains for depression/ motivation?

you guys must not smoke like i do because i just had some strawberry cough and one hit of that thru the gravitron had me locked on the couch

there are distinct differences between indicas and sativas but only at low levels, if you sit there and smoke blunts you're going to be faded regardless of the strain

Sour Diesel and Silver Haze works great for my depression.

I wasn't very clear with this thread, sorry. I have smoked only one strain, SSH, which has given me a very up high. SSH also did not leave me feeling hung over the next day. I struggle with apathy more than depression, and I would like to have a list of meds (bud strains) to help me when I need a good kick in the ass emotionally.

Haha, I love that title. Yea, some cannabis exhibits stronger stimulant properties but if you are looking for a long term/daily solution this isnt gonna fix it. Feeling down or need to relieve stress on certain days? Smoke up.

Otherwise weed acts AS a depressor/demotivator to most groups. Everyone is different though.

You need some SWEET TOOTH #3 or #4 from Spice of Life seeds.

Also try the Flo or F13 from DJ Shorts. Both very motivational, clear, "up" highs.

For depression relief though there is really nothing better than the tooth. :hippy: :stoned:

I 99% agree with you, the 1% belongs to the people that stick to their priorities. One of the only problems I see with herb is getting high becomes a priority for people. Incorrectly referred to as "lack of motivation". If I'm high, but I truly want to get up and do something, I will. A big problem that pharmacologists are making is they invent some supposed "symptom" that your brain is restricting you from doing without their drugs. Ultimately, the pharmacologists want a thicker wallet with the economy these days. They don't see the difference between aspiration, and motivation. And that's why I agree with you.

Sativas are recommended for depression, also it is high THC that most like for depression, the og and purple are usually indica dominant strains which are more for pain, but some might use for depression as well. Sativas are know to motivate better because they increase heart rate, which usually increases ones motivation or feelings. I am not to sure on depression but I know allot of people that medicate for depression and they like Sativas. And all like Super Silver Haze, I have talked to 3 different people that said they love it and will be growing it, just for depression.

I really like Strawberry Cough for an awake uplifting effect.
