Kinda strange only a couple accusers out of the thousands of children he brought to his ranch. Nice to see where you stand, but paying off a case to make it go away is not uncommon. In fact, it's very common for both defendants and plaintiffs to settle just to make the case go away. Why spend $30,000,000 on a criminal defense, when $12,000,000 makes it go away?
Happens in the criminal world too, but they call it plea bargaining. Yet never was a plea bargain entered into on MJ's behalf, because there was no proof other than a mother selling her story, and tall tales from an ingrateful lying punk. (was caught in a couple of lies)
Were there actual proof, I have no doubt the DA would have wanted to make a name for himself by picking-up the case and running with it without plaintiff's testimony. But, the plaintiffs were more than happy to settle before a not guilty verdict fucked them over good.
Kinda sickening to think that if this really happened, a mother would rather get her hair and nails done (and back waxed) every week for life, rather than seeing that justice be done to the man that raped her child. Morals are so expendable these days, but I guess having none pays well. :jointsmile:
