So i use a chair, dosnt mean i cant grow!
Long time ago, poor kids would hold there cap out with hopes that people would give them money. That is where the term handi-cap came from-FYI
No out side pic's, because it took most of the day figuring out how to get dirt in the pot for LST. LOL, It was a mess:wtf:
So i got 2 im LSTing. I really want to see if i can keep it in a tight circle. It sorta started out side ways, which i used to my advantage. I tied a piece of twine loose to get started and placed a rock in front for comfort with a big rain on its way.
This rock iv been saving to put in the landscape of my 6 year old white pine iv been trainning in a pot. This year it will be transplanted in a nice clay bonsai tray. I do have a pic of one LST.
PEACE:rastasmoke:

Hey shake, thanks man. You would like bonsai if ya like growing plants. Most important thing is it must look like it belongs. My pine made it out of 6 i had in a giant pot. Enviornment is the most important. Must keep them in thier cycle. EX; the pine after potted in bonsai pot must be kept in its pot underground throgh winter. Every conifer likes their roots to freeze in winter. Then dig em up in spring. Same with every tree you see outside. People purchase a nice $250;00 maple and display on there coffee table, then cant understand why the leaves fall off. genetics but id bet you already know this.
I have 2 ficus that are just hanging on. Iv not been able to take care of em because i had a shoulder scop, but im better now and the both need re-potted. My dad bought one from wal-mart. Wasa nice thought but ya never buy them under that type of light. Plus you cant see the root growth, so i will brake it out of the dumb rock its glued down with and re-pot it. 40per gritt 60 soil. It will grow fast then, you only cut back new growth after that. bonsai web is a great site to check out great trees. Iv read many books a i also found a local grower...........a must if ya can find one. If you need anything just let me know, as i know most methods/styles and finding them in the wild. Now thats fun:D:D

thanks for all the info see ya! i'll definitely start devoting some time to it. bonsai sounds more and more cool....and more and more in depth.
i'm sure i'll have plenty of questions. finding one in the wild would be amazing.
very cool stuff. i keep loving plans more and more everyday.

Sorry i forgot the Pine, but here are the ficus that need repotting. Iv had the one on the left for 8 years now. The big one on the right was a x-mass gift that was bought at Sam's Club. Something not advised, because rocks are glued to the soil and you cant see roots. They mass grow em and then put em in a semi truck and ship them all over. But after ya repot them you can get lucky with ok roots. Im hoping this will be the case. I looks like a nice tree.
See Ya:rasta:

Gosh, that made me shudder... malsai :(
I hope you've already got rid of the glued on stones, they do more than hide the nebari. The glue prevents water from reaching the roots, poisons the substrate and starves the tree.
Nice to know there are a few bonsai fans in the canna growing community.
Shake - if you want to practice some of the techniques you are reading about, cannabis plants make excellent short term models. They respond in days/weeks to tinkering rather than months/years with long lived species.
Just don't do it to plants that you plan to harvest.
