Aluminium is bad juju for smoking, you can put the bud directly in the apple without making a bowl or screen, just pull the stem off, use the guts of the pen to bore out the where the stem was, then use the barrel of the pen to dig out a mouthpiece. pretty easy, and better than nothing, a potato also works, but after a while your weed starts tasting like french fries.
