My first attempt

ok so i had a friend come by for some advice and found that the plant in hte top right corner was a male so i am kindof bumm'd out. the plant that i thought was a female.... had the prettiest node areas forming :( very sad... so know that leaves me with one less plant... i do have one question... seeing i need to get the plant tht is in a pot with another plant out.... how do i do that with the plants being about 4 inchs apart... i know if i mess with the roots then it can go into shock and possibly die... any suggestions or should i just get a much bigger pot and place them both in there and hope they will fill the space instead of getting tangled roots? I am sorry if i am typing shit-tons in this form but this is quite enjoyable growing my fav plant, learning, and sharing knowledge and this experience :)

i'd suggest you not chop the one your buddy said was a 'male' as 5 weeks from
seed is awful early to display sex.

also, the canoeing could be due to a ph issue so check your ph, it should be
somewhere between 6 and 7, any lower and it's too acidic, any higher and
it's to alkaline.

btw, those two in the same pot, one way to separate them would be to take
cuttings from them and pot the rooted cuts into separate pots.

you could also just repot them if they are big enough, just be gentle with the roots,
and you don't have to be manic about it, they can take more abuse than you'd think.

to illustrate what roots can take, here are a couple of pics of one i re-vegged
after i harvested it, note the bread knive i used to chop the rootball down to
size. (btw, this plant recovered very nicely and continues to supply me with a
steady supply of cuttings)

thanks for the reply... just want to clear something up ...if my spelling or typing seems to be missing a letter its due to this damn laptop not keeping up with my typing lol but about the plants i will be transfering later today when company gets the hell out of my house... im gonna use your steak knife idea! i am hoping i dont fuck this one up lol but im confident enough to do it so :) well its early as balls for me to be awake on my day off...and i smell the beautiful smell of coffee... i will return later in the day and thank you for the posts:)

so, if things don't go as planned, it isn't a failure, it's a learning experience.

Sweet thanks ! I appreciate all posts... I will keep you all up-to-date as to my plants... I did take a cutting on a plant and have started to do the cloning process to see if its male or female... but i will be suprised it the cutting lives. from what i have read it seems to be a very strict process with temp, water,:D and humidity. we will see and i will let you all know:)

lol, while it is true that cloning can be very tricky, some strains are a real bitch,
it can also be quite easy. you'd be surprised how many cuts would root if you
just stuck them in a glass of water on the window sill.

Ok i have been afk for some time now but here is the update....
I started flowering 3 days ago from today and have remved one male.... haven't been able to tell the sex from the others quite yet ....hopefully they are females >:) I still have not figured out to as why the hell one plants leaves are canoeing... must be a retarded plant! I have done everything from flushing it thinking it was a nitrogen problem to totally changing the temp in the room...still no changes. here are some pics of my plants at the moment...

like italiano said, they stretch the first 40% in flower and then fatten up the last 60%. (my bad italiano, i almost tried to correct you, whoops!)

keagal, you need to get a way to check your pH. you can get a freshwater aquarium test kit for around $7 at your local pet store. you will also probably need either some pH up or down. this is around $3.

the pH for your plants in soil should be between 6.3 and 6.8. (6-7 is acceptable like bozo said).

your plants look very nice by the way, minus the few problems.
