ha its all music bro
the title of the thread is how is the hip hop scene on here. HIP HOP being the operative word. it wasn't titled what's your favorite type of music or whatnot.
hip hop is about fighting injustices, righting wrongs and spreading knowledge. not chopping people up with hatchets. (yes, that was a blatant generalization.)
if that music is for you fine, but don't call it hip hop as it is not!
that's like saying islam and judaism are one in the same because they are both religions.

ha what would u call it? what would you call behind the paint? YouTube - Behind The Paint what about withered? YouTube - Withered - Dark Lotus (Lyrics) ... its not a generalization it was an assumption
NAS....need I say more?! I'm definitely in the hip hop scene. I love everything about hip hop, but I don't have many people I like....I like some of Chamillionaire's mixtapes...Specially "Mixtape Messiah 3." Crazy punch lines. NAS by far is my favorite lyrically.
Since this is a cannabis forum, I'll bless ya'll with a NAS smokin song :D
P.S. I know it's none on the real subject, but it said Hip Hop so I couldn't help it! :stoned:

you're right, stoner, it was an assumption. and for that i am sorry. the first one you linked too i couldn't really hear because whoever made the video didn't know what they were doing. and the second sounds like some wanna be bone. (and yes it did have actual lyrical content!)
and i don't even pretend to know ICP or dark lotus' music. i've heards bits and pieces and it's just not for me.
what is the message behind their music? what is with the hatchet? do they condone violence? i don't honestly know.
and two songs is not definitve proof either way.
italiano, check out mixtape messiah 5. that album is ridiculous. he might be the best lyricsist in the game right now.

the message behind the music tho it may seem obsurd to get this from what you have heard from the music is be there for your brother. the first song was called be hind the paint bassically its just sayin were the kids you used to beat on and make fun in school now your kissin our asses and so on and so forth. this is from my dark carnival post but the same message still applys "its just a new way of displaying morals when most rap and hip hop that you hear in the mainstreme has none
"The story involves six Joker's Cards, each relaying a message or showing some sort of moral story"... honestly the main point is for all the misfits to have a place to fit in like crispi was sayin they were pretty much the outkasts the scrubs they know what it was like they didnt have you know alot of friends every one looked down on em so why not give these kids a family and friends that they never had? personally i'm a juggalo i been down since the 5th grade my brother and sister got me into it. the whole aim of juggalos and the dark carnival is to try to convey the message of take care of your people your brothers your sisters your family and friends and personally i dont see how the fuck thats bull shit."
its all perspective...
like i said, i had no idea what their music was about. that's why i asked. and i made an ass out of myself with a stupid assumption.
if that's the message, than that's cool. i can understand and respect that. from what i've heard the sound is just not for me. that's not saying that if i listened i wouldn't find a song or two that i like. there might be many. and if it makes you a better person, then hell yeah.
i guess it's pretty stupid to label stuff in general. who cares if it's hip hop or not, it's music. and that's really all that matters.
