stinky? anyone take a look at the pics an tel me if you think its thrips or mites.. either way i neem oiled everything and also put the spider/pest strips all over my mothers, veg, and bloom areas.. i dont know whats going on but i think its all over the place what do i do!!
Thrips aren't as rapid-deadly as spider mites. However, they can be very difficult to eradicate (from experience)
a pyrythrium bomb is what a friend uses in her veg room quarterly to keep them away. I used pyrithrium spray (Safer insecticide soap) and sprayed mine up to 2 weeks into flower. (weekly - can damage leaves if soaked too badly, you may want to rise off with a light spray of water.)
You might hand a Hot Shot in the room at the intake vents and in the doorway. that helps in general.

It's a fair repellent, but that's all. Only cuz it tastes and smells nasty. bugs throw up and keep on sucking.
Avid miticide (used on organic gardens I believe - but I may be wrong) I believe also kills thrips.
If they are spider mites the bombs are the way to go . You must break the life cycle of the bugs. On the underside of the leaves you must see little bugs and white webs. Very small hard to see unless you have magnifying class.
To stop the life cycle I used doc dooms small bombs. Lets see Zandor told me how. I spider mite is born with eggs that they lay when they are 2 weeks old and the eggs hatch in about a week. So as I remember a bomb about every week for 3 to 4 weeks to break the life cycle. You can't kill eggs so if you kill mites once a week and eggs last no more than about a week in 3 weeks I had killed a hatched eggs. This can be done with in 2 weeks of the end of flowering. The pyrithrium will disapate within 2 weeks and be safe.
Neem oil will suffacate your plants, be careful.
I say thrips because...

Look near the edged of the leaves -- see the tiny black dots? Thats thrip-shit and eggs. See the squiggly white feeding lines? Mites spotting are tiny roundish spots, not feeding trails.
And if you look at the leaf you will see a shiny snail-trail like substance, that is to keep the eggs on the leaves.
Look closely -- you shouldn't need a loupe or magnifier -- and see if you see any long, skinny bugs, pale yellow in color. I think I see one in that picture near the center on the center leaf stem. These are thrips.
If mites, you would see almost microscopic webbing. And if you could see them, the mites would be more roundish, pale, with saddle bags (usually -- two-spotted mite).

3 words... NO PEST STRIPS.. i put like 5 of them all over the place within 2 days everyhing was cleared out. the neem oil was so smelly and gross im so pissed that i wasted the earlier days neeming the whole place down what a waste of tiem it didnt do much just slowed them down a bit.. soon as i hung the strips everything was dead i mean thers not 1 left in the whole place.. thanks for the help u guys
what should i do about all the neem oil.. ip ut it on everything all th e plants every leaf .. i did it two times day after day.. should i wash them off/. its been about 5 days since i put the neem on and everything looks fine but i dont wana 'suffocate them like u guys said
I second No Pest Strips. I've never seen a bug in my grow room. However, stinky made a thread pointing out how they could be mildly toxic, so I think 5 might be overkill, and if you use em, you shouldn't hang out in your room for extended periods.
5-days after flooded with Neem and the plants look fine? good. don't worry.
:wtf:
yeah, 5 might be overkill, but hey, it's thrips! :D
(good advice not to hang out too much in the room cuz of them)
