I wouldn't do much sampling, that half gram you pulled off will probably be like 1.5 to 2 grams once they fill up, and much much more potent. DO you have a microscope or jewlers loop to check the trichomes? If you don't I would urge you to start looking for one as this is the best way to really control how the smoke will turn out in effects wize.
If you do not allready know about how the color of trichomes work I might as well say it now, I'm sure someone will learn from it. Up untill near harvest the trichomes, what many people call chrystals, will be clear. This indicates that the THC is not well developed. When nearing harvest they will begin to turn milky. If you harvest when the trichomes are mostly milky you get what would be concidered a more energetic and social high, if you wait, they will get amber. This is what you want for meds, it will be much more knock out. really plant your butt. And if you wait longer then you will actually miss the window, so trichomes may actually EXPLODE, and thc is synthesized into some other stuff. so that is what you want. But strain is obviously the main thing, they determine what window of range you have for the effects. This is the main thing that you can do. ANd With overall smoking...well drying and curring are very important!

Thanks for all the comments, I do have a 30x Microscope, and have been watching the Trichomes on daily basis, most are now Landular Bulbous Trichomes, and are just starting to turn a little milky, I have now stoped the feed, and am using PH balanced water to help flush nuits from them, I will be harvesting on May 5th, as I reckon they will be just about right, besides I need to get them drying before I go on holidays, However I have 8 more in hydro tubs under fluro, which I intend to keep 4 as mothers, and flower the other 4, these are all cuttings from the original 3 plants, Although plant 1 turnrd out to be fem, it only has about a 10th the amount of trichomes as the the other 2, so will probably flower the cuttings from that, and keep the best ones asa the mothers. I will post some more pics before I chop them, and more when its dried. As far as smoking samples is concerned, I only took a couple of tiny buds from the bottom of the main stem, about an inch from the top of the soil! dried them for 30 seconds in the microwave and smoked them, they were a bit "tasty" lol but wow! damn strong, so I cant wait until all my hard work goes up in smoke!!! :p

Its a pity I don't know the strain of these, as they started out as seeds from some stash, So I think I will just call them Monster Bud!!!!! any other suggestions?

I think 'Monster-Bud' would be a pretty apt name for them. They are some fat buds.
Nice plants mate.

This picture is of a single ovule covered in Bulbous glandular Trichomes, It was taken using a £15.00 iluminated 30X pocket microscope, and placing a digital camera lens over the eyepiece. The brown section at the bottom is the shriveled Pistil.

Damn man that yield is gonna be huge for 3 plants.
You said you were going to harvest May 5.
Is that still your target date???
The trichomes look like they could use maybe 1 more week....
Are you then going to wait 2 more days of total darkness then chop?
Please advise...
great, awesuma and phenomomal looking 3 plants.
Congrats on the 3 females....great great work.
P.S. What size pots are those? Looks like the 5 gallon buckets weren't needed here. Really curious as to how big htey are.
