Adding molasses to your bloom mix?
oh silly sap. i had the same problem with molasses; congealed all the pin sprayers and made an overall slimy mess of the tubs. i've since fixed the problem by adding only ONE teaspoon at a time. ensuring that i mix it with water or nutrient solution that is HOT, mixing every few minutes for about 10 minutes, then finally putting it into the res. if you just throw the molasses in hot (and even worse COLD) water the mix is all cloudy (even if you stir aggressively for a few minutes) and you can clearly see it's not completely dissolved. and the reservoir is not likely to be warm or hot either, so all that particle cloudiness just grabs on to anything it can and i would assume almost instantly clogs up your system, as it did mine. i have since limited molasses to 1 teaspoon per day, well mixed beforehand. even my super sensitive pin sprayers aren't phazed anymore. they will go weeks without having to be cleaned, whereas before it was about a day, maybe less. are you turning your air pumps off at all? i find that if they are turned off they clog much more easily. i've also heard recommendations of 1 tablespoon per galon, but i find that to be excessive. that figure is probably good for soil, but not for hydro. my further advice is, if you brave to try it again, to start with smaller dosages. like 1 teaspoon for your entire rez. and work your way up until your system can't handle anymore. any molasses is better than no molasses, my grand dad used to say...or something like that.molasses is great stuff, love the results, i don't think i'll ever betray it. makes for a noticeably sweeter smell of buds, and denser as well.
Adding molasses to your bloom mix?
yeah, I leave my airstones running all the time. I am using deep water culture buckets to grow. I may try it again someday but I had a bitch of a time with the ph levels. :( Thanks for your advice!
