Im growing White Russian, in Canna Professional Plus too, using Canna Vegga, Canna Flores and Canna Boost Accelerator. I love this stuff!!
I started feeding Vegga at 1/4 strength from day 6 from seeds popping, which is when I transplanted into the "soil", increasing to full strength within 4 feeds. On a four-water cycle : feed, feed, feed, plain water.
I found with this Professional Plus that if I pour water into the soil fast, then run-off happens fairly fast, and the soil retains less water, ie dried out way too fast. If I pour the water slowly, in small amounts at a time, then the soil retains a lot more water, almost double the amount. I always water untill there is some run off, about a tenth of the volume poured into the pots.
Using this feeding schedule with this soil and these nutes I have not had ANY burning, droopy leaves, or any symptoms of stress or nutrient deficiencies at all. The plants love this medium and nute combination. Just wish I had a pic or two for you. They are at day 39 of flowering now, and still look as healthy and vibrant as when they first popped their heads into this world.
So I guess the short answer with this soil is feed them, they will love it and you will see the improvement in a very very short time
Hi Diesel;
Thanks for the information! Especially, the parts about the Canna Terra / Terra- Plus soil. This information is extremely valuable to me and confirms what I had been thinking. :) So, even if I have to water them with a little over 1/2 a gallon at a time, then this would be okay?
What I really want to accomplish with the next watering is to get the entire pots soil wet - Something, that up until now I haven't been able to do...
Regarding the nutes - I am fairly sure that the plants are hungry, as its been quiet some time. However, the pots are still fairly heavy from the last watering, which begs for the question whether to wait 3-4 more days to feed them, or to feed them right now?? And, if I feed them right now - How much water should I give them (considering, that the pots are still heavy)?
Right now, I am thinking that I'll water them with 1/4 strenght and give each plant about 12 ounces each.... However, would be nice to get someone elses oppinion.

Okay - Here's the update for today... The light just came on and I took some pictures to show the droopy leaves that I am having to put up with, almost every day. There is also an overview shot where you can see that not all of them are doing this....
Secondly, although the pots were still heavy I decided to water them with about 16 ounces of 1/3rd strength nute solution. Hoping that they'll like it.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.... :)

I think I'll take some more pictures in like 2-3 hours to show how the plants have changed... Usually, they do recover quiet nicely... (Though, at the same time, it really sucks having to see them like this every time when the light comes on and 3-4 hours before the light goes out....)

Well... It's been two looooong hours and the plants are still looking as droopy as they did before. There seems to be 0 improvement....
Just to make sure I checked the roots again and they are looking very strong and healthy - So, clearly that's not part of the problem.
Any expert opinion from anyone reading this would really be great. I am very much worried....

I don't measure the amount of water I give the plants. I water them slowly, small amounts at a time until there is some run off. Then I wait till the pots feel really light before I water them again. The amount of water really is dependant on the size of the pots you are using. I'm using 10 litre pots (erm... 3 gal?). They absorb about 3 litres each with about 200 ml run-off, and they are dry in two days. Boy, do these girls like to drink. The point is not to measure too greatly the amount of water you are giving the plants, rather concentrate on how much the plants need. As the plants grow they will naturally drink more. The other aspect I'm trying to make is that they love Canna. I'm on full strength flores and double strength bloom boost. Three feeds, then plain water, then three feeds... you get the idea. One thing to remember too - flush every 30 days, to leach built up salts in the medium. Also, don't feed them with cold water - rather let the water reach room temp before feeding. This eliminates stress from too cold water. Can't really see too well from your last pics, but I would guess they are hungry, that's why the bottom leaves are yellow. You are at day 43 - feed them. Full strength nutes per the bottle instructions. I started full strength veg nutes when they were about 20 days old. Hope this helps you to grow some lurvly ladies

Its really awesome to have finally found someone who has experience with this Canna Terra Plus stuff.... Somehow, watering it feels 'different'.... My pots were still fairly heavy and as I decided to start feeding them I started watering them....
Well, each pot has taken an additional 2 Liters with virtually no runoff. I'll probably feed them another .5 Liters each and then see what happens. As for the nutes I decided to go to a little above 1/2 strength. If they tolerate it well I'll increase to full strength next time around.
BTW - For the past few days plants only grew an average of maybe 1/4 or 0.75cm.... :(

The trick is not to overwater. This Pro Plus is brilliant at providing air to the roots. If you overwater, then the roots' ability to absorb air deminishes. Better to let the soil dry before watering again. When you pick up the pot and go "WOW this is really light", then it's time to water again. In saying this though, bear in mind that Pro Plus has a cocco content, so it's rather difficult to overwater. Provided you have good drainage, this should not be a problem at all.
You are on track by increasing their nutes - again due to the soil's cocco content. Don't be too surprised though if some of the yellow leaves do not recover. Those that do, great. Those that don't, oh well.... Give the yellow leaves a GENTLE tug. If they come off, well then they weren't doing the plant any good anyway, as the plant has already leached all the nutrients out of the leaves in an attempt to feed itself.
Have you flushed yet? If not, it may be a good idea to do so at the next watering. 10 litre pots = 30 litres plain water per pot, with the last litre or so containg 1/2 strength nutes. Then let them dry before feeding again.
Something to think about - maybe for future grows: I use clear plastic 10 litre square food containers as pots, with 8 or 10 3/4 inch holes drilled in the bottom. I cover them in black garbage bags to prevent light entering the pot. I leave the bottom of the container uncovered, but the base of the pot will not let in light as it has to stand on something after all. I do this so that if I pick up the pot, I can see the roots at the bottom. This gives me an idea of how well the roots are doing, ie if I see darkening of the roots, then I know that they have issues that need addressing, before it's too late to correct the problem.
You don't seem too happy that the ladies have gone handbag shopping at the mall, via the makeup department, rather than concentrating on growing QUOTE=weedee;1955354]For the past few days plants only grew an average of maybe 1/4 or 0.75cm.... :([/QUOTE]. Have you decided when to start flowering? The White strains tend to tripple in height when flowering, so if height restrictions are an issue for you, it may be better to flower sooner rather than later. I have no experience of the Train-strains, so am unable to comment here. I would guess though that they too will at least double in size.

Alrighty - It's been 24 hours since the plants received nutes and here is the update on their condition.
- Droopy leaves have greatly improved. Less plants show them and they don't nearly droopy as much anymore. Also, leaves do recover much more quickly after the light has come on.
- Plants are seeming to start to stretch/grow again - Around 1.25cm in the past 24 hours.
- Weird spots have started popping up on the leaves again. They kinda start of grey, then turn to a brown/rust color and finally to a yellow. Not all plants are showing this, though I guess that it could be a sign of over- fertilization? :(
- Color of the leaves has not really improved yet. Especially one plant is showing extremely light green, almost yellow, leaves - Even on the new growth. How long before I should see some improvement here?

Thanks again for the info. I already decided to remove all the old and died off leaves. Plants are looking better now. :) Watering the Terra Plus stuff is a whole new experience, compared to the rockwool and cogr slabs, for sure.
I fed the plants an additional 2.5 liters yesterday with about 200ml runoff, per plant. Pots are still extremely heavy, but nice and evenly watered. Would you mind taking a guess on how long it'll take for them to dry out? Right now this is having me slightly worried, as my guess'timate would be around 5 days...?!
In regards of the root system I usually just pull the side of the containers away from the soil and look down.... Works great and my roots are looking very healthy, even though I can't really see any root-hairs?? :wtf:
And you are right - I ain't happy one fucking bit about my ladies having gone out shopping with the mastercard and without permission...! The re- newed growth of spots on the leaves is really having me concerned. I didn't wanna really switch them to 12/12 with problems still being unsolved and/or remaining.
However, I always planned on switching them when the first plant reaches 40cm and that is just about the case now. Problems that I'd really like to get under control first though are the yellow leaves on the new growth and the weird spots on my leaves. What do you think??? I am despereate for advice!

Great to hear that the plants are looking / growing better again.
May I ask, at what time of the day do you water? For info, I water when it's the "morning", so that the plants have the whole "day" to drink before going to bed happy and satisfied.
The weird spots - you have 12 plants in 3 gal pots in 10 square feet of space - with the amount of water given to the plants I would monitor the humidity of you grow room first to establish if this is the cause of the prob. Don't be disheartened though, it takes a little time for plants to respond to increased / decreased anything. I know you have a dehumidifier - have you any way of testing that it if dunctioning correctly?
Do you rotate the plants? I rotate and re-position constantly, so they all get equal time in various positions. Helps with grow room hot spots, incomming cold air, etc, etc.
Not too sure about the new growth being more yellow than it should be. I'm not familiar with the Canna Bio products, but rather than overnute, there may be an instance of something lacking. Give them a few more days, then compare.
It's not really possible to say accurately when they will need watering again - the plants will let you know when they need water.
Hope things continue to improve.

Hi weed
You are using Canna TERRA Professional Plus. Canna Bio products are more suited to the Canna BIO Professional Plus medium, although they have been developed for soil use. It may be an idea to switch to the Terra products, as they have been developed specifically for the medium you are using. They also have a new product - Canna Flush - which can be used in all types of subtrates.
Are you using tap water? If so, do you let the chlorine evaporate before feeding?
