alright, planted the germinated seeds on thursday. got 15 well germ. seeds with roots as long as 1 1/2" although the pics don't show everything too well, the structure is 47"x42"x19" with 1/2" insulation covering all for sides on the inside. I used 3" screws and liquid nails adhesive compound to seal the "roof" to the main body. The whole top section was built independently, thus the handles. in the spring, i can just take the screws out, dissolve the compound, and use the main section again while storing the top for next winter. I took the pics before i finished all the caulking, so it may not look finished, but it is... ;)
I was wondering what you are going to use for fresh air vent? A co2 generator on propane would be amazing for that.
Went out to check on my little experiment... pleasantly surprised with 4 little sprouts. :D OK, now i know this is not a big deal in reality, but it still kicks ass because they have only been getting natural light through the window and i have NO special equipment. 3 of them are about 1 1/4" and one is 3/4" tall with 2-4 tiny leaves each. it's been 60-70 deg. for the last 3 days, and if it keeps going like this i will be VERY pleased.
we are going to have a cold winter.
wow that is a crazy idea but good luck I need to build a box like that ill be checking back to see how things go I am from ohio and wouldnt even imagine that
But how will you suplement lighting?
short nights will make it want to flower. Starting off a seedling with 12/12 or less light will make it wanna go hermie.
Solar lighting with led?
to tell you the truth i have no idea how I'm going to supplement lighting. I looked into portable 12" 8 watt florescent lights which run on batteries, and bought one to see if i could just leave it on all the time. I let it run overnight and when i came to check on it the next morning it was off, but the batteries weren't dead, so.... yeah... idk... more likely than not i'll just end up hoping for the best... oh well.. btw, yesterday there were four, today there are 6.
Dude, good luck, but there is no way your set up is going to work outside in Ohio. there are pots that plug in and have heaters built into them, propane heaters etc. There is no way you can grow weed with battery operated fluorescent lights. I am not trying to be harsh or hurt your feelings. Let us know if your seedlings last more than 2 weeks out in the cold. I have my fingers crossed for U.
If thats the case then your partner should have told you its not possible.Quote:
